i have been recently working on a caddy-like reverse proxy written in rust, and i managed to get the code to the point where it supports reverse proxying :sylveon_uwu:

making a lot of progress with my http server :sylveon_uwu:

first of all, its code is
codeberg.org/sugar700/anville, it's kinda ugly, and currently not documented at all, but still, it's there

second, today i implemented acme, which means it will automatically generate tls certificates (no need to use programs like certbot)
:sylveon_aww:

there is still a lot to do, but i suspect soon i will be able to replace caddy on my server with anville
:sylveon_heart:

this is a post fae wanted to post in discuss.kde.org/t/sorry-to-bring-up-a-contentious-topic-kde-ai-llm-policy/46333/6, but it was blocked first due to "An error occurred: Sorry, you can't post the word 'Nazi'; it's not allowed.", and when fae rewrote it to not say the word "nazi", the forum software said that "An error occurred: Sorry, you can't include links in your posts."

figured fae would write publicly what fae wanted to write on kde forums, because fae thinks it's valuable to know why fae opposes genai so much, even if kde developers may not see it
:sylveon_uwu:

I'm of a strong opinion that KDE should not accept LLM contributions.

Let me explain. GenAI is inherently a fascist project, and I wish KDE wouldn't support it, following how KDE stopped posting on X (
mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-www/2025-October/009275.html), how KDE has a code of conduct promoting diversity (kde.org/code-of-conduct/), and how KDE strives to make world a better place (kde.org/for/activists/).

To explain, how exactly GenAI is fascist, it's worth looking at
Wikipedia article about art in Nazi Germany. GenAI is trying to do very similar things to art as nazis did (and yes, programming is art). The article for instance says the following:
Hitler's rise to power on January 31, 1933, was quickly followed by actions intended to cleanse the culture of degeneracy: book burnings were organized, artists and musicians were dismissed from teaching positions, artists were forbidden to utilize any colors not apparent in nature, to the "normal eye", and curators who had shown a partiality to modern art were replaced by Nazi Party members.
The same thing is actually happening today. Books are physically destroyed to train LLMs using them (arstechnica.com/ai/2025/06/anthropic-destroyed-millions-of-print-books-to-build-its-ai-models/), websites are flooded with scraper bot traffic to effectively shut them down, schools are encouraged to use GenAI, GenAI generates soulless content that tries to replace already existing art, and software projects are flooded with slop which is exhausting for software maintainers.

Promoters of GenAI project want to replace art with what they want to be a propaganda for them, just like nazis did. It's no coincidence that LLM models specifically focus on art, whether it is writing, painting, composing, making videos, or, yes, writing code. Things that are actually fun, rather than, say, automating boring and repetitive tasks. It is explicitly trying to remove humanity from art.

Speaking of propaganda (
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda_in_Nazi_Germany), GenAI wants people to depend on GenAI for thinking, to quote Sam Altman:
We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter.
I don't want to live in a world that GenAI companies want people to live in.

oh, and company that fae got that used laptop from put a warranty sticker on one of the screws, but eh, fae doesn't care :sylveon_uwu: the warranty they provided was like 3 months long anyways, so it already expired it's kinda annoying to see the void letters that stayed on the laptop however, wondering if there is a way to remove those,,,

this was relatively straightforward, following the guide on www.ifixit.com/Document/4PvDyjNQg5XysPfm/t14s_gen2_x13_gen2_hmm_en.pdf sure, there were more screws, and they weren't magnetic, but overall the process of replacing the hard drive was simple, comparable to what it was on framework, had a bit of a struggle figuring out how to reinsert the base cover, but after a while fae managed to figure it out :sylveon_uwu: the hard drive is recognized, however no operating system is booting (probably because boot entries are stored in uefi) well, gonna try installing gentoo then, meow~ :sylveon_melt:

@Mirppc@mastodon.social @soller@floss.social if that helps, codeberg is a non-profit organization, so it cannot legally become a public company like companies behind sourceforge (in the past), github, and gitlab did codeberg simply cannot have investors demanding more and more profits, and is instead focusing on providing actually good git repository hosting service for free software projects :sylveon_uwu: which effectively means that hosting projects on codeberg should be pretty stable

well, okay, to clarify what fae said previously, specifically it's the nvme screw wasn't magnetic (like it is on framework 13) both devices had screws that stayed in for the screws for opening the device :sylveon_uwu: for that process, thinkpad x13 gen2 had 7 screws, framework 13 had 5 screws, but that doesn't matter all that much :sylveon_melt:

@Mirppc@mastodon.social @soller@floss.social true :sylveon_uwu: that said, as far age requirement on codeberg is concerned, fae thinks it's unlikely unless eu laws change to mandate codeberg to verify users' age (github requires users to be at least 13 years old due to coppa, however coppa doesn't need to be complied with for entities outside of united states, and codeberg is in germany) (mastodon.social does require users to be at least 16 years old, due to gdpr, however the requirement in gdpr that mandates that only applies to "information society services", which fae doubts code hosting services like codeberg are, and considering microsoft didn't make being 16 years old a requirement for using github, doubtful microsoft sees it that way either) the thing about dropping x86_64-v2 is mostly inapplicable to codeberg, as it's not a software repository also, it's worth noting about x86_64-v3 requirement, there is only one distro that made it a requirement: rhel 10 (which is owned by ibm), and that requirement is so controversial that almalinux (a fork of rhel) went out of the way to not have it: almalinux.org/blog/2025-05-13-epel-10-kitten-v2/ in general however, if codeberg screws up badly (mistakes happen, that's okay), fae would expect people working on it to try to undo whatever happened after realizing that something was a mistake
