Szymon Nowicki
Web dev based in Germany, working for a big company. I do a lot of side projects.
Away from keyboard I'm sometimes busy with firefighting (Freiwillige Feuerwehr).
I host most of my things and recently I buy a lot of old and new Audio CDs.
Germany should have give everyone solar panel and a battery for free instead of taking care of cheaper fuel prices.
New: justwebsite.eu.
The aim is to make a thing for everyone who "just want a website". No bullshit, no WYSIWYG, just a website.
You sign up, set up CNAME, type some stuff, select from few designs, publish.
No customization, no nothing. Just content -> publish.
Thinking of everyone who just needs some stuff but don't want to bother checking how static websites work, or getting into bullshit marketing from hosting providers.

Why would anyone still use axios when `fetch` is around for soooo long?
We should all take a minute and appreciate that Americans use kW and kW/h instead of some made up units like 4 stadium lightbulbs over one football match.
HR introducing new time management tool, video call.
Questions in chat:
- question 1
- question 2

- mine: will there be MCP, API or cli tool so I cane automate it?

HR guy answering 1, 2, 3, 5.
Me in chat: so no automation support? No API?
HR guy thanks for the meeting, "I see no more questions, goodbye".
xD
A month after our C-level told us to automate everything possible.
Seems like someone else also noticed this.
The problem is, and it’s a general problem in Germany, that it won’t change for the next 5 years.
In a country east from the river Oder, it would be long gone altogether. Like they abolished addresses on IDs and requirement to carry a driving license. If cops can check it, why would we need to carry them?
Here there will be discussion for years and in the end CDU will freeze it.

MS Teams: we will create 25 different channels for the same team. EFFICIENCY! SO MUCH CHATS SO WOW

Protip to get your food faster at McDonald’s.
Place an order in the app. Go there. Select mcdrive delivery, go to the counter say you’re terribly sorry, it was a misclick.
They will get it ASAP because you break their processes by dangling like an uncommitted file after you’ve already posted a PR.
Disclaimer: I’m too nice to exploit it on purpose. I really misclick and they don’t have confirm nor undo so.
For some longer time we observed pods crashing out of nowhere. Nothing apparent in logs, just pod gone for a minute or two, like once a week. Hard to analyse in a flood of logs.
Today we got a customer who was so dedicated he would hammer that website for an hour. Everytime he would open it, pod crashed.
He was our "edge case" but this time we got a dedicated one, to finish his task. And finally the logs were obvious...
missing return before next() ended up with set headers after response.
If you use macOS and have way too many apps in the Dock AND you know what is magical number 7 +- 2 here's something for you:
```
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{"tile-type"="spacer-tile";}'
```
```
killall Dock
```
Move some apps to the right. You got a spacer that makes groups of apps.
Could Germany review and abolish Umweltzoneplakette please? This is absurd. Cars that are not green are made like 20 years ago, antics so they can get in anyway I guess.
And in Poland you can order a green label for any kind of car.
It’s a dead and unnecessary law. Yet everyone has to buy this shit and stick it.
Atom? No thanks! Of course it’s better to be dependent on Russia, USA and all Arab countries so that in 15 years maybe we will have enough storage to go 100% green!
In the meantime we can share our wealth with all the great and friendly democracies like UAE.
All those other Europeans are nuts. We know better for last 10 years and it’s highly visible on both economical and social level.
@pointlessone rhymes mostly.
- kurwa kurwie łba nie urwie
- Pytasz dzika czy sra w lesie?
- Sralimuchy, będzie wiosna.
- Skończyło się babci sranie!
3: while an advent of flies can indeed show spring signs this idiom actually shows a disbelief. Like “jak zielony śnieg poleci” / “when a green snow falls” (which was als funny in 1986 during Czernobyl).
@neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk if you feel like I can recommend an rss feed I made with latest blog posts indexed on kukei.eu
This is nonsense but I got to fight it, otherwise my mail provider might ban me one day. If you'd like to sign up for early beta at #justwebsiteEU put this code on the waitlist form: mastodonftw
Today trump claims they won the war or they seek talks today?
Today in #justwebsiteEU - "media" manager. Now a user can add/remove media from their account. Media stored at bunny.net S3-compatible storage.
This is yet-another bare bones with rough edges, but you know, one step after another.
Also I'm happy with moving from openclaw to hermes agent. Now Jadwiga is somehow more capable, faster and reasonable.
She did a really nice PR review and then when asked she also made a PR with fixes for stuff she found.
Without LLMs I wouldn't be that fast.
If anyone is still paying high price for Claude or openrouter I highly recommend trying out ollama cloud.
They have an amazing bang for the buck ratio. I switched with everything I do with LLMS there (3 openclaw agents, masto.kukei.eu summaries and categorizations, opencode and continue.dev) and right now I hit 5% of my weekly limit.
Before I paid around 12 bucks on openrouter and I got Copilot (for free from work but this ended so I'd need to pay whatever it costs now).
All of those are real Polish idioms.

I was never happy with VSCode (UX is so poor) and Jetbrains (UX is perfect, but it's rather slow and expensive).
VSCodium is better than VSCode, but still same UX.
Now I can finally say that with some small hiccups, Zed.dev is getting mature. It's my main IDE both at work and afterwork and with some extra configuration love it's just amazing.
Interestingly, I used to run tootctl preview_cards remove every day via cronjob and still got 60+GB of data on S3 at Scaleway.
Now once I moved to bunny.net, I run it for the whole day and it doesn't stop. From 60GB+ I'm already at 8GB and it's still deleting stuff.
Everyone check your instances S3 if this command really works with your S3 bucket.
