idk if this is normal but having an IC with a programming pin requesting a specific resistor or capacitor is uh, a bit disorienting.

This video from 1937 remains the best way to learn how a car's differential works. https://youtu.be/yYAw79386WI?t=110

rofl I was still overthinking the usb lavalamp buck + dimmer. The load is an incandescent light bulb. It doesn't need current-control it just needs a set max voltage. i.e. a normal-ass buck regulator. (schematic still wip)

to elaborate: I am not a colorgradologist but I'm p sure that any already-saturated colors were bumped to be extra saturated, and there's something going on with the midtones to make the lighting feel extra crunchy. Maybe some deliberate clipping of highlights in excess of the actual dynamic range of modern cameras. Cool for making a sensation of unreality without being overt enough for most people to really notice what's going on.

I feel like these guys just created the future of music, except they're the only ones skilled enough to actually perform it.

Bit late to the party but yeah, this one's a real gem.

What I knew ahead of time was "spooky-themed deckbuilder with metafiction stuff going on". This was a tough sell; I'm meh on deckbuilding and tons of media advertised as metatextual has some "I'm 12 and this is deep" energy imo.

Right off the top though, the game itself is damn finely crafted. Not high production value per-se but clearly an immense amount of care put into creating a cohesive mood and tone. Also card-battling is mechanically great -- the central "pay in sacrifices" card-cost paradigm leads to a nifty feeling of back-against-the-wall tension.

Past that, the way Inscryption deploys metafiction brought me genuine surprise and delight. Cheeky comments about the mechanics are table stakes from the start. The big swings, though, take a while to fully hit -- and when they do, the impact is uncanny.

@LJ@zirk.us Have had great experiences with StickerNinja for smallish-run high-quality. An actual person looks over the submitted artwork, and I've had meaningful exchanges with them when trying to do some weird stuff with specialty spot-gloss processes. Also, unusually good at UV longevity.
