It was a wild and glorious time to be making things for actual dollars too.)

I’ve only experienced something like this a few times in my life, but a couple years ago I had a dream: in it, I was on a Zoom call with my boss who was letting me go. “Sorry it didn’t work out” etc
I didn’t think much about it at the time because I didn’t recognize the person on screen, but imagine my surprise when I got hired by someone incredibly reminiscent approximately a year later.
He quit a few months before I lost the gig, and while I don’t believe in The Woo, I’ll admit being spooked

@ifixcoinops@retro.social I’m remembering now that in addition to “writing” to the coin switch, I also had the capability of “reading” the coin switch so it was possible to do accounting (although I didn’t personally care about this)

@mwichary@mastodon.online that was my thought too, but I did a gradient to test semi-transparency and it’s fine. It’s only an issue at the shape edges (I’m playing with converting CSS-animated SVG to video)

@mwichary@mastodon.online I messed around with this recently generating the video from a MediaStream in the browser and it worked but the semi-transparent edge pixels were calculated incorrectly and I eventually gave up and put everything on the back-burner. Meant to go back and try again from a WASMified FFMpeg, but ugh
