I was wondering why I was weirdly hungry then realised that I hadn't had breakfast. Then I was wondering why my toast was taking so long to finish then realised that the slice of bread was sitting on the kitchen counter.

The proposed 'savings' from cutting benefits are so transparently the cart driving the horse (there's a lot of horses today) that I'd be disappointed, if not necessarily surprised, if it's not obvious to most people, and I would hope that backbench MPs keep enough of their spine to reject the cuts, assuming that the the fucker's report results in the outcome that he clearly wants. But it's going to fuck us over even without the monetary penalty because it'll confirm enough people in their prejudices and nudge some uninformed, perhaps even undiagnosed, people away from acceptance. I don't know about you but my ADHD comes with a side order 1/2

Anyway, what I really wanted to say was that a diagnosis is still valid, and that you, we, can still draw self-forgiveness and strength from one (or more, as the case may be). And that you're a great guy who definitely should be given one million pounds. Of beans. So if you want to go for a drink and vent some time then let me know (though not right now cos I've got a filthy cold) and while I can't promise that I'll not get distracted half way through, I'll certainly try 😁 2/2

@adhdjesse@mastodon.social I've had people suggest that to me and not only did I know beforehand that it was going to be 42 steps to get to the end of the task, that realisation was part of why I was blocking on starting in the first place – plus now I have another even less interesting task to do first... What often does sort of work is something I think your video suggests, which is to break off a small part to do first, and get the ball rolling. At some point the desire to figure out how everything fits together becomes more interesting and I'll break it down.
