If the first message after Artemis passes out of radio blackout isn’t ‘moon’s haunted’ then I don’t know what we’re even doing here.

@LilahTovMoon@tech.lgbt This strikes me as a practical sacrilege. Bakery sees demand for bagels, starts making bagels, wants to slice bagels, bread slicer is just sitting there idle, so they embrace chaos.

@jamesthomson@mastodon.social Yeah. I mean the point of pride is to not plausible deniability the thing you are proud of. Just saying it’s kind of where we unfortunately are right now.

@jamesthomson@mastodon.social I will just say that since 2024 lots of people have gotten just a bit subtle with the colors - bit of plausible deniability in the era of an uncertain police state here.

@ZanaGB@lgbtqia.space @cinebox@masto.hackers.town I would note that the Concorde was the product of a vision of the future where travel would continue to be a luxury of the rich. It could never scale. It was never a part of your future except as something to remotely observe. Ironically the French chased a plane for the aristocracy. The US made one for the masses as the 747 opened the world to the middle class.
When we think of progress, don’t lose sight of who the progress benefits and who it doesn’t.

@nyhan@fediscience.org @SRLevine@neuromatch.social I doubt that’s an IT directive. Check in with your VC of Research.

@lloydlemons@me.dm CA has laws on it. Some cities choose not to enforce. Mom getting arrested is that happening - possibly for the first time as this is possibly the first fatality _from_ an e-bike in the 10 years they’ve been around. Should we talk about the thousands of cyclists killed annually due to getting hit by cars?
