I'm back at social.lol and thought it was a good opportunity to post a proper #introduction.

I'm Robert (he/him), and I live in Stockholm, Sweden.

Since 2017, I've worked as a home inspector. It's a job I love for many reasons, the main ones being the luxury of meeting people and seeing places I would never have encountered otherwise.

I've been blogging since 2002 and am still trying to figure out how to do it right. My current blog, robertbirming.com, has somehow managed to stay alive since 2023.

I also love tinkering with CSS themes and creating small tools for the indie web. It's just a hobby, but a satisfying one. Maybe that's the thing, it's satisfying because it's not work.

When I'm not hanging around in dark crawl spaces or getting hung up on dark mode contrast drift, I like snapping photos, reading books, and watching movies.

Some favorites of mine:

• Siddhartha (book)
• Highwayman (song)
• Interstellar (movie)

Tack och hej, leverpastej!

Added a status page to my @goodenough@mastodon.world Pika blog, so now I have @neatnik@social.lol status.lol for short updates and some.pics for photos 🥳 https://birming.com/status #blogging #indieweb

@eevan@social.lol @neatnik@social.lol @goodenough@mastodon.world I just used the Pics “Customize your page” feature to edit the template. My version is probably a bit too personalized to fit other Pika blogs, but feel free to use it anyway you like.

@jmock@social.lol Beautiful! Is the new share to Mastodon feature in place now, @neatnik@social.lol mentioned it was coming, or did you share by hand?

@jmock@social.lol @neatnik@social.lol I see, looking forward to be able to enable it by default.

@neatnik@social.lol @jmock@social.lol Awesome! Looking forward to it. Thank you!
