It's been a long day, and I need something stronger than Lemon-dou Light Weight 😭

Looking forward to settling into Osaka tomorrow, but do NOT want to pack 😢
I am quitting my job tomorrow. 🤔 Wondering if i should call it "retirement"?
The kiddo made me a character in Tomodachi Life. Accurate.
Kiddo needed vxs yesterday and is terrified of them, so I got my COVID update in solidarity. He was a champ. I, on the other hand, will feel like I am dying for the next few days. It's a little better than it has been in the past because no drenching cold sweats, but all of my joints are either too weak to engage or in the middle of charlie horsing and the vertigo is abysmal. This took me forever to type, but I felt it was necessary to proof of life. Send Gatorade and gogurts.
A few weeks ago I went to a low-key get-together for 5 hours and spent the next day and a half sleeping to recuperate, so i was definitely worried about the recovery from the bar mitzvah. I slept about 16 hours yesterday and at least another 14 today. I had a Coca-Cola with dinner because i figured it couldn't really hurt, and now it's almost midnight and my brain is up but I'm too exhausted to get out of bed to be productive.
I am makin' things and it's makin' me feel more like me.
I'm back kinda and all i have to talk to about is bitching about my kid's Dr. so I'm just gonna not. But hey, still here, just exhausted.

@softicecreamlesley@famichiki.jp i have VERY sensitive skin and hooded eyes, so a lot of loose, sensitive, aging skin 😭
I've tried MAC, Urban Decay, and now Milani - first two when I was told i needed a move-proof primer & both were too strong, and the latter bc I was told it was less grippy.
I'm just sticking with eye cream from now on. I don't like to wear enough shadow that it would migrate. When it sticks and won't move after the first tap, i invariably have to use more shadow than i like anyway.
Y'all. I fell asleep on the couch. Younger child watching TV on the floor and older child and spouse supposed to be going out to see movie later.
I wake up: where is *older child*
Younger child: i dunno
Me: did *parent and OC* leave for the movie?
YC: maybe
Me: is Mom here?
YC: um, YES?
Me: *thinks* weird, I can't remember Mom AT. ALL. But Mom should be here, so where is Mom?
*Drift back to sleep, wake up an hour later, remember interaction.
ME, Y'ALL. MOM IS ME AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE HERE.
@takosix@famichiki.jp my Italian grandma approves this message
It's been a long time since I've done a full face of makeup (pretty minimalist with makeup & it's still a long time since even that) We have family photos this afternoon (dry run for Saturday) so I did my face this morning in case I muck it and need time to redo. I used eyeshadow primer bc it's almost 10 hrs until photos.
I forgot that choosing eyeshadow primer is choosing violence.
Every. Single. Time.
It's like coating my eyelids in tar and then using sandpaper to put on shadow. Fuck this.
My Dollar Tree fucking sucks now. It's none of the craft stuff i need and all of the 5Below stuff I don't want. I couldn't find black paracord, so i bought a skein of chenille yarn and spent an hour crocheting it into chain cord.
All of this to say - I left my takeout bahn mi to sit while i worked, and it was the best decision I've ever made.
Absolute top tier best bahn mi I've ever had because it marinated. 🎆🎆
Time for a nap.
So... I had intended to quit as of the 27th. When asked for my timeline, I did some quick calculus and answered "end of April, if not sooner"
What changed? I realized that business tax and personal tax deadlines are 3/15 and 4/15. If I want any hope of bringing in someone who can learn the job such that I can make a clean break and never have them bother me again, I need to give enough time for people to apply after they rage-quit their current tax jobs.
@jon I absolutely love this, but it also looks like a composite photo straight out of the Crossley ID Guide (burrowing owls, p267). Dare I say, even better? 😂😍
How does one lose an entire set of interchangeable knitting needles? Totally deflating 😖
If you see this, toot a pic of an opossum yawning.
Why? Because i decided that would make me happy in this moment, that's why.
If you really want to ruin a 2E kid's week, make them solve a triangle that doesn't exist. 😮💨🤦🏼♀️ I need a frickin' drink.
Okay, I have a .... weird question. In Japan, do you put subfloors over the floor joists before laying down the flooring surface?
Because this house we're in clearly has the laminate sheeting straight over the floor joists and there are spots in the floor we dare not step.

@TomatoGrilledCheese@famichiki.jp 100% with you on this. My kid is the kind of person who has to see and experience every permutation make a decision, so like, "let me look at this hairstyle in every color...ok what about this hairstyle in every color..." All the way through to the Nth option. So, when it allows you to change the speed/pitch of voices he has to check whether he likes each one AT EACH LEVEL OF CHANGE. I brokered a deal that he could get the game but only if forbidden to mess with the sound.
