This should be illegal. This should be treated as a severe data breach and a failure of privacy on GitHub's part too. There is so much stuff on GitHub that people unwillingly upload without knowing and now it's being shared without being redacted to the public in AI datasets. We need to put an end to this, stand against this bullshit. I am actually fucking ballistic. People need to start class-action lawsuits against this kind of bullshit from HF and fine them until they can no longer operate.

@spycrab@kolektiva.social HF provides an opt-out method for getting your projects out of their dataset. No guarantees though to be honest. I'd also consider writing to whoever could help get your stuff out of that dataset, whether it be governmental data control orgs or something else. I moved to Codeberg in 2025 as well and removed all of my GH repos, Codeberg recently banned cryptocurrency projects and vibecoded projects too. There's also git.gay and some others out there.

Fell for the OneNote trap and exported everything before I left the thing that allowed me to use OneNote actively... now I'm stuck using some other software on my Mac to use the OneNotes I exported. It is better than OneNote to a degree though.

What's insane about this is that it's usually considered flat-out impossible because of how much has changed over time between compilers and systems but apparently I can pull off building a kernel from 2009-2011 on a 2025 kernel. (Yes, I refuse to update macOS or my iPhone. I fucking hate my country.) I don't have high hopes for a successful boot though. Just because it compiled and linked doesn't mean it'll boot. If it does, I'll probably start something with this related to IPPCM.

I have concluded that kexts and IOKit is fucking bullshit. They just DO NOT work on modern compilers. Therefore, I'll be stripping them outright and more from my XNU and building my own system on top of XNU my own way. I have spent more than 2 hours fighting with kxld over unresolved mangled symbols and vtable malformation, so fuck that. I will be reviving a project from last year that was supposed to use a custom XNU that I didn't know how to do then.

Like even compiling a kernel for macOS 12 or 13 on macOS 26 is usually a dead end without a lot of hacking the build system and code to cooperate, not to mention the endless barrel of dependencies. Am I the best non-Apple-employee developer to ever get multiple XNU versions running myself without scripts or online guides and even get it building on modern systems? Could I open up a path to compilation on other POSIX/UNIX OSes?

Newer XNU is way harder because of Apple Silicon security, arm64e, many more dependencies, the kernel is way bigger, etc. Older XNU has basically none of that and is way easier to hack on... especially when you can build the kernel on an M4 in under 20 or so seconds... ;3
