You may think this is a video about cars, but it's really not.
Just got home from Spanish class and all 7 people in the class had a story about an older relative (mom, dad, grandad, uncle, aunt) who spends hours a day mindlessly scrolling social media and is completely unable to engage with the rest of the family during meals.
Tell me again why we're trying to ban kids/teens from social media and not just ban algorithmic social media entirely?
I don't think the AI bubble will burst quickly enough to sink SpaceX's IPO, but it really is a race and at least one of SpaceX, OpenAI or Anthropic is going to lose and their IPO is going to be a huge disaster.
Here's my cancellable opinion: all ballots should be returned by ~7pm on election day and the results announced that night (w/ rare exceptions) because timeliness does affect people's trust in the system.

We're squarely in Howard Hughes territory with Trump. It's clear he is dying, he knows it, he's trying to put his clown face on everything and he trusts no one who hasn't already proved to be loyal bootlicker.

Slate is going to sell a fuckton of these primarily because they are a lot cheaper than other electric vehicles and have lots of buttons and knobs. But, the anti-surveillance backlash that is building is going to contribute too
@solar_chase@mastodon.green I appreciated your thread on why battery backed solar is a good solution for daily/weather load shifts but are not a solution for seasonal load shifts in electricity demand. Have you considered putting together a map showing where battery backed solar would work year round and where it probably would not (by latitude, avg cloud cover, etc)? For example, it appears to work southern Spain, right? What about NW Spain? What about Arizona? Just an idea
After I opened this story on my phone, I had to open it again on my laptop to see these images on a bigger screen. And holy shit, that Saudi pipeline sustained a LOT of damage. I guess that's what happens when a pipeline full of highly flammable liquid catches fire, eh?
