@katemorley I'm sorry to say I have a bad habit of explaining things that excite me to anyone who stays still long enough even if they know more about it than me. I might of been an excitable Labrador in a past life.

@drmikepj I have Lenovo laptop and it was working fine with Lenovo dock until a security update stopped the second monitor from working. Switching to an older dell dock I get both monitors ( occasionally have to replug if it goes into sleep mode) but an annoying message saying it's not charging fast enough. I'm not sure how much of the issue is hardware and how much is drivers manufacturers trying to force you use their own hardware. It's not the utopia though.

@emily_s@mastodon.me.uk @neil@mastodon.neilzone.co.uk I suspect we are going to see more of this over the next few months before the October introduction of the Cyber Resilience Act. As I understand from October companies have to monitor and notify users of known exploits as well as providing a date for how long they are going to provide updates. Unintended consequences being companies kill old devices before October so they don't have to deal with this on old platforms that don't/can't comply with legislation.

@drmikepj it's sad that people are so addicted to inhaling dinosaurs. And mostly renewable are mainly recyclable unlike the alternative. To quote Robert Llewellyn. Show me litre of recycled diesel...

@georgetakei@universeodon.com I've spotted this on flights and holidays, me and my wife have been sat next to each other on different devices getting different prices for the same holiday. We don't use that company because of that.

@hazelweakly my biggest complaint is laptops defaulting the f keys to things I don't use, I find I use the f keys quite alot
