with a line like "heritage is duty" you can't claim Omarchy is just about the tech. they are building a worldview into that leads to atrocity.

@neatnik@social.lol DNS Kitchen (https://dns.kitchen) is awesome for DNS. I migrated from cloudflare to it a month or two ago and would highly recommend. (He’s also vehemently anti-fash)
Just saw that all the opening acts as well as Ed Sheeran’s band pulled out of his tour after Macklemore got the boot for speaking out for Palestine. Good for them on making a costly but just decision!

just posted on the blog: "what are we doing here"
this is a followup to my last post because i've got thoughts on the belief that its a dogpile to critique a public post these days.

@neatnik@social.lol imagine if instead of “I’ll defend my friends hurling abuse at marginalized folks no matter the cost! If you have a problem with it keep it to yourself. I’m free to talk not you” you encountered “oh hmm I didn’t know that I’ll look into it I’m sorry for defending hate. My door is always open to feedback so we can create a safer better world”.
I guess since they are sitting up giant funds to payout to those harmed by government that reparations for chattel slavery is in the works and will be announced any day now…right??? Let the money go where it is deserved. Not to seditious fundamentalists.

@neatnik@social.lol One of the biggest kindnesses someone can offer is correction and accountability, even if it’s uncomfortable or “not nice”. That’s how we get a better world and become better people.
Vacation starts after work today. Can not wait. Will be off until June 1.

@digitalsnow@social.lol A few weeks ago something had to be reset or changed there that messed with mastodon authorization so it needs to be reset. @neatnik@social.lol could tell you more.

This is the way.
Whenever someone tries to convince you to tolerate fascism & the like in public because of “nuance” or “unity” or some similar BS, remember that it only helps the fascism. We stop the horrible things that fascism brings by being clear to the white nationalists or tech bros or whoever that there is no space for it in public life. “Nuance” is one of the biggest reasons American civil society is fracturing at its core.

Of earth and wires by Dua Saleh is a really special album. Listed as Pop on bandcamp initially had me passing it by but it got recommended to me elsewhere and I gave it a chance and am really glad I did. If you like artsy music, try and give their music one listen all the way thru https://duasaleh.bandcamp.com/album/of-earth-wires
Took the family and had a blast! Nostalgic (for me), funny and action packed for them, and a decent message countering toxic masculinity. Worth it!
@jcrabapple@dmv.community I took my kids Thursday night and we all loved it! Won’t win any “best picture” Oscar’s but was the most fun I’ve had in a theater in awhile. Captured the adventure I grew up loving in Star Wars well.
Starting vacation with an 8hr drive. Listening to “one day everyone will have always been against this” by Omar El Akkad to pass the time.
I forget who was talking about musora on here recently but this recent one of Nerv doing an Ariana Grande song is pretty great: https://youtu.be/ZHtecoH0GBs
(And if you were the one that put musora in my YouTube feed, thanks)

@neatnik@social.lol I realize this might not matter but as someone on this platform, Adam repeatedly told people it WASNT you, Manton when they asked or said something assuming it was. He didn’t even say it was someone on MB platform until this thread as far as I know.
I always assumed it was some unrelated right wing troll trying to attack spaces protecting what they hated based off what Adam shared. 🤷♂️
