Some days are sunny.
The beach near Bach Wen, North Wales almost same spot as yesterday's grey day photo.

I've got to say I'm enjoying the images off the Ilford FP4+, I'm taking my time converting the scans I made.

This is your regular reminder that the large tech companies are pretty evil. Also anyone wearing those glasses needs to have a good think about their lives and what they are doing.

Had a lovely wander this morning, must admit that wooded areas aren't really my photography thing, way too visually busy.
Grace Dieu Viaduct in the harsh morning sun.
Now this was just a test shot from the roll of Gold 200 I put through the Praktica, some basic framing up and an extra stop as I was wanting to learn the metering, I wasn't taking notice of what was on the motorway. There's a slightly surprising thing in the shot, what's the chances of that. 😆
Item listed in ALT text.
I'm quite liking the Kodak Pro-Image 100, has a cooler look than the Gold200 but quite curly when scanning.
Anyhow as per the laws of photography here is Moore Street substation that every photographer is legally bound to take a photo of when visiting Sheffield 😉
I found another photo from the Soar navigation in Leicester while I was going through some negative scans this morning, this is looking towards Echo Bridge.
Remember to tell yourself that if you are doing something creative and you enjoy doing it, then it has value ❤️
I'm not sure the manager was that happy that my reply to his question about how I'm feeling after taking voluntary redundancy was "To be honest I feel like I've just stepped off a bus before it drives off a cliff"
Flipping heck, I've just had a meeting with a solicitor that was both productive and informative. 😮
I just washed the car, first time I've had the energy and motivation to do that in about a year.
This is your periodic reminder that the oil and gas in the north sea is not ours*, it was all sold off in the 80's and we even give tax breaks to the companies drilling for it. You can drill all you want, it will make 0% difference to the price at the pump but will make the energy companies billions.
* unlike Norway who kept it nationalised and put profits a trust fund that as of June 2025, it had over US$1.9 trillion in assets, equal to 1.5% of the value of the world's listed companies.
Yay, getting home to two rolls of film back from the lab that look reasonably exposed.
Boo, having things to do before I can get around to scanning them.
Look at that beauty, really nice Capri spotted in Caernarfon.
Relaxing bank holiday Monday so far, been for a wander, fixed the cast iron base we use for a parasol made lunch and now relaxing with a mug of tea.
Feeling a bit zonked out this morning, I think it's just the last 3 or so weeks catching up with me.
I've still two rolls of developed film to scan in that's been sitting around during most of the chaos which I didn't want to make a start on until I had enough focus to make a good job of, a task for the weekend possibly.
Well next week I start my stupidly long redundancy notice of 12 weeks, I'm sort of hoping that once I get some handing over and a few other tasks done I can sneak off on gardening leave but I think interfacing some software to an airport's CAT-II ILS system might keep me busy.
I've got the urge to make some Cyanotypes of my photos, mostly after watching someone making platinum palladium prints which is a more complex and expensive process.
Having a nice lazy Sunday, bit of tidying, some 3D printing (which failed 4hrs in) and drinking tea.
I've started sketching out an app I want to develop and as I want it to have Windows, Mac and Linux builds I was starting down the Electron route but then noticed Tauri. Given this apps usage, amount of data it sometimes processes and possible later uses of the code Rust might have some advantages. Anyone on here used both?
Might take the Sony camera out tomorrow with the 24-70mm on it, not used that lens for ages, I'll need to take all my batteries with that setup.
Seems one of my photos got into Flickr's Explore feed, which will explain the surprise number of views, favs, comments and of course invites to pretty much theme-less groups where people just slap each other on the back 🙄
Slept until about 7:30, actually feel like I've had a good night's sleep.
Slow start to the morning, mugs of tea, a bit of photo editing.
I've dug the Sony body out and stuck an old East German CSJ 50mm lens on in case I go it later.

I'm not saying that some areas of Airport/Aviation software are very stuck in their ways but I've just seen job advert for maintaining a company's range of software products that:
1) Asked for VB6 experience.
2) Was in office only, no remote working.
😮
I've just caught Claude putting a message format into some documentation that was wrong and wasn't actually defined anywhere, seems it was reverse engineering it from the regex used to check if there's a complete message in a buffer, Claude's nothing if not overconfident in it's ability.
Seriously the one thing worse than no documentation it's misleading documentation.
A couple of images from Grace Dieu Priory, Leicestershire.
A lot of this was my playground growing up.
@WiteWulf@cyberplace.social I take it you know all of these locations.
This morning I've mostly been trying to get the useless AI in Confluence to do the simple task of changing the black background on some tables in an imported doc. I keeps saying it's done it but the backgrounds are still black, I've 60+ of these docs to import so an automated workflow is needed.
I think the Sony/Zeiss 24-70mm f/4 is going to be a possible trade in if needed in the future. It's a lovely lens but the OM-Systems 12-45mm f/4 does the same thing on the MFT camera at a fraction of the weight and without killing a battery in just over an hour.
