The US is the policeman of the world... we've seen lots of wars happen after trump's original isolationist positions. @cstross@wandering.shop I consider what AI does to be largely stealing intellectual property. We agree on that. But china is never, EVER, going to put ANY limitations based on Western (especially) intellectual property and so this would just end up killing Western AI without saving our artists. The ONLY way is tit-for-tat with china so it's forced to a deal on this.
