@molly0xfff@hachyderm.io Gosh I’m relieved this turned out to be more innocent than the screenshot made me think it might be.

Well, this explains why Doug Ford, the mayor of Toronto, wants jets to be allowed at Billy Bishop. #cdnpoli #canada https://www.thestar.com/politics/provincial/ontario-buys-used-289m-private-jet-for-doug-ford-sources/article_6c5bff3c-0e8a-45a1-a37e-0efdaf0e0aa4.html / https://archive.ph/nws21

@rad@mstdn.ca @paige@masto.canadiancivil.com I take the point and kinda agree, but it ignores the productivity that comes from the jobs. If the govt creates 1000 jobs building wind farms then we also get wind farms. (Though I know this isn’t always the case).
Our healthcare system is collapsing and rather than do anything to help #Ontario Ford just wants to keep pretending to be the mayor of Toronto. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ford-province-billy-bishop-takeover-9.7122427?cmp=rss #cdnpoli

I actually don’t have a strong opinion on AI as a technology. But either it is a tech that will change things enough to make it worth this unprecedented spending, or it is not and this is a bubble. Either way, we are in for massive disruption and correction and financial hardship.

@elight@tenforward.social @sstephenson@indieweb.social No, I don’t think you were naive. I can’t tell you how much the people and the company changed over those years. They money flowed in and with it came power and influence.

@sol_hsa@mastodon.gamedev.place @infobeautiful@vis.social Yeah sadly we are real bad at trains. But a HSR is in the works finally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alto_(high-speed_rail)
Dungeon Crawler Carl book 8 was excellent. So fun. Respect for writing a series and being able to keep up the quality of story and characters. The only bad part is how long I have to wait for book 9.
It’s been a while since I’ve enjoyed a piece of writing this much. https://mceglowski.substack.com/p/lets-talk-space-toilets
