I highly recommend subscribing to Tech Won’t Save Us in your podcast app, and becoming a supporter if you can afford it. Paris is a fantastic interviewer. You will learn a lot and be exposed to so many interesting people and perspectives

@elight@tenforward.social back in the early Rails Core days, a friend and I used to joke that Tobi was a Nazi, on account of his blond hair, blue eyes, and stereotypical German mannerisms. (I’m not proud of that; I was young and naive, and Naziism at that time and from my privileged perspective seemed like a funny relic of a distant past.)
Anyway, now Tobi runs a multibillion-dollar platform where he profits directly from people who sell Nazi memorabilia. I think about that a lot

When making a copy of a file before you do something potentially destructive to it, what suffix do you append?
