@Floppy@mastodon.me.uk I wish I could downvote this, but the frequency in which this has been happening lately is very sad. I mourn being able to (naively) believe that tech was more altruistic than this 😢 Even worse somehow is the hill that people are willing to die on. Sure, it's painful to our pride to admit mistakes, but are we all so bad at learning how to empathize and improve 😭

@neatnik@social.lol Drafting my own thoughts as a starting place https://paultraylor.net/ai/ Will probably continue to need a bit of thinking and editing 🙃

@neatnik@social.lol @Palleas@mastodon.social I do try to take all these as a reminder to 'punch up, not down'. I try to avoid criticizing private individuals too much, since it's a rough time and we're all mostly trying our best. But we should continue to hold companies and (way too) public individuals to a higher standard.

@neatnik@social.lol Yeah . . . . . . I'm happy they helped develop rss, but that seems to be their one thing ever, and they always felt especially full of themselves because of it >_<

@_elena I laugh at your ‘trigger warning for sysadmins’ but also sadly know why you have to. I do hope it triggers some in a way that helps developers empathize with ‘normal’ people more, and work on sanding off more rough edges. Thanks again for your posts. I think they provide a nice window to see how software works for other groups of people :)

@webology Trying to get better about it! 😅

@neatnik@social.lol Makes me wonder what you're cooking up 😆
