The downside of keeping xiv chat logs with crimes is being able to look back at my loot rolls.
I've averaged a 24 on the weapon coffer in M12S across five kills (one kill was when crimes were unavailable and is therefore unlogged). If it weren't for bad luck...

I played XI for a decade. Given who we met in the closing of EoV, it would have been really nice (and touching) for them to refer to us as our XI character, not as our XIV character, or at least acknowledge it.
It doesn't take away from the ride, the nostalgia was fantastic, but I can't help but be disappointed they didn't cross-reference our SE accounts to do that.

Was chatting this over with @hexephre@gamepad.club, but I think I want to see how Reaper feels this and next expac. I like melee dps, but my old thumbs can’t keep up with the 50 cpm that ninja and viper require.
The glows on the umad weapons are kind of nice...
Just tried to get a taxi to 10. Person that joined said they could drive -- apparently not realizing your ability to queue into later floors resets every week. They could not in fact drive.
(We did get a taxi eventually.)
I didn't do reclears last night because ADHD-type insomnia hit and I'd only gotten two hours of sleep.
Today I'm feeling like I won't do reclears purely from disinterest.

@gcvsa@mstdn.plus (As an addendum / tangent, don't forget to try standard v. legacy controls on the General tab there. The community generally prefers "Legacy", but flip between them and see which you prefer - I know folks that have cleared the hardest content in the game that use "Standard".)

What with the Manjaro Manifesto v2.0 (yes, really), flipped over to Bazzite on my main drive today. Mostly going well, the immutable concept is causing some grief.
There's also a weird hitch in XIV any time I _release_ a mouse button that, the only way I've found to resolve so far, is by using the software mouse cursor _shudders_.

I wasn't going to win that game without the endgame crisis hitting another empire, and I was kind of looking forward to the opportunity to rebuild from a single system and see what happened. The game just... game overed me because temporarily no settlements before I could play that out.

@bearmine@gamepad.club So, I mean, I _was_ able to fight a defensive war on unequal footing against another civ, so it wasn't completely imbalanced. I was able to use econ, tech, and topography (hyperspace lanes) advantages to compensate for not carrying a large standing navy.
The problem is that at some magnitude, it is just "Number Bigger", and also with the threat starting within my civ instead of outside... (teal are my settlements, box is where the invasion spawned)

For context, first game I'd played in years. I was among the tech and econ leaders in the galaxy, but my military was... smol.
Good moment: A militaristic empire with overwhelming fleet power decided it fancied about a third of my empire - wardec with it and its two allies that also had overwhelming fleet each. I fought them off with just a meat grinder of stations and econ dump of a defense - and the AI being scared to send their ships back in. XD

Then came the end-game crisis. Actual overwhelming fleet that _actually uses it_. Spawns at the edge of the galaxy, and of course it spawns at the very edge of my galaxy arm (which means it completely ravages my civ). Managed to get a construction and colony ship out to get something on the other side of the galaxy... but got game overed 60% of the way through the colony building >.>
(We're not going to talk about how there's _$250_ worth of expansions for Stellaris now... I only have like 2.)

@gcvsa@mstdn.plus You have to go out of your way to auto-attack on casters. Hitting a weaponskill automatically toggles auto-attacks, but spells don't ^^;

From a gaming side, with Steam investing in x86 emulation on ARM for their new HMD... this might be an interesting little Steam box too.
So I'm still rolling like garbage on the things I need for BiS... but is that the price for 1-shot reclears? (Okay Tyrant was a two-shot because WHM mis-counted ultimate weapons, but w/e.)

Second one - 1 AM PDT, so 8 AM UTC, 9 AM BST.
Got SteamVR set up for the first time since I switched to Linux. We'll see how the warts are. Audio switch isn't automatic, at least not on my system with CachyOS. Fiddling required, but it does at least seem to be functional.
