I like linguistics, reading about history, making music, and playing retro games. I mostly shitpost or rant about game stuff. Or being sad.
I make music. You can stream it all free on Bandcamp. It’s mostly for me but I love to share it. I’m a DJ, though I mostly perform online these days. I used to play the trumpet. I still play the piano and the harp, both poorly. I love them nonetheless.
You can poke me on Discord, Matrix, LINE, Signal. I love talking about music, retro games, and linguistics. I also enjoy being everyone’s mom friend and telling bad jokes.

Also, naturally, transphobes of any type will be blocked after being made fun of, and transmedicalists will be cursed with all of the energy I can muster.
Everytime I'm enjoying a drama of some variety and love triangles and toxic monogamy rolls up reinforced with misogyny and assorted nonsense it really tends to sour it for me. I'm just sitting there like hey team, you are the problem in this episode actually. The call is coming from inside the house. Straights, are you okay? Blink if you're being held under duress.
If one more person says 'well why don't you just x' about anything to me today i am going to lose my fucking mind.
Having a real 'this batch of gummies are really weak this time around, I'll just have one on an empty stomach this time and wait where am I?' moment.
I guess my housemate's boyfriend snores. Loud enough for me to hear it multiple rooms away too.
@ezlin@gamepad.club yeah the whole scene isn't like that, but a lot of it is. I don't participate in it. I'm in a DJ collective and venue people can book us and I'm playing 2-4 gigs a week which is plenty. But I just can't deal with those people anymore. It's too much. And I've worked with enough venues to know that they usually all shake out the same way. I'm proud to say that the two venues I've run in the last 5 years stayed away from that. But even if you keep your own isolated, the venue crowd is the venue crowd.
I have sort of intentionally not done anything about how I speak and continue to use the same voice I've had since it dropped decades ago. I haven't really changed my speech patterns or anything.
HOWEVER
I have been trying to un-masc my Japanese seeing as when I was living there in my 20s it was as a man and with other men as my primary resources. When I hear myself speak it bums me out in a way my masc English voice does not.
Not looking for advice or suggestions. Just kind of observing and lamenting a bit. I kinda thought it was interesting.
Banging my head trying to get more students. I haven't been able to find any since the end of last summer that want to meet regularly. I've only lost some. And this is despite really excellent ratings on both platforms I can be rated on. I'm deeply frustrated.
@ezlin@gamepad.club I love my community and I still love playing FF so it sounds like it wasn't as bad for me but yeah. I've just decided to excise that chunk and fill the time and energy doing other things that I actually love.
In the state I live in I require two notarized affidavits of character to change my name/gender marker along with everything else. Mine are being provided by exes who I dated before I even knew I was trans. It got me wondering for those who have a more tedious process like this, is this a sorta normal occurrence?
Mondays I try to do some work even though I keep my calendar as free as possible. I have barely managed to do anything other than take a brief shower and eat a little. I'm trying to tell myself that it's okay to have another day of rest and to not work. If only so I don't burn myself out intensely as I seem to do.
