KD9QHQ.com:
Apparently my signalstick antenna loses its rigidity when it gets cold.
I mean, at least it doesn't shrink, I guess?

Had a little time to play radio today! 142 QSOs on FT8/FT4!

I'm having surgery on Monday. It's fairly minor, and apparently being done by robots.
I wonder if I can hack the robots to remove a kidney for me as well...
I need to sell it so I can get a few Raspberry Pi Zero 2 Ws.
Solar Cycle 25 has been great. However one of the sun's poles is starting to darken already, which may cause the Solar Maximum to hit a year earlier than originally expected.
Enjoy it while it's here, #hamradio friends!

I rarely have to deal with (l)users anymore, but when I do, it's this.
Every. Time.

I ran a BBS back then, and still run one today!
warensemble.com
Telnet, ssh, http(s), ftp, gopher, nntp, and a bunch of other protocols..
Oh, it also has a dial up line. :)
@nixCraft@mastodon.social wait, why is there a SDR window and.. Is that a signal generator? Or an antenna tuner? Or some kind of SDR-based rig?
Do I need to learn Rust to program new software for ham radios?
And neither of those frequencies are in ham bands!
@nixCraft@mastodon.social
I've been working as a sysadmin for 25+ years. I still couldn't program my way out of a paper bag, and not for a lack of trying.
Heck, I'm currently titled as a "DevOps Engineer"
I can write a mean bash script, and that's about it.
Drawbacks to being witty on git commits:
Creating a branch with some small fixes you've been putting off. You title the commit "All the small things"
Which immediately gets the Blink 182 song stuck in your head.
please send help.
@MikeElgan@mastodon.social ick.
I mean, I enjoy tiktok, but this is just... Ick.
Why didn't someone tell me Dwarf Fortress was finally released on Steam a couple days ago?
I can finally pay for a game I've been playing for free for years!
Hey, so, what do you guys think? I go in for somewhat minor surgery (outpatient) on Monday morning. Tuesday or Wednesday, while I'm all drugged up on opiates and whatever other painkillers they give me should be the perfect time for me to do my taxes, right?
@MikeElgan@mastodon.social the world wide web is a failure. The internet still has promise.
@greppy@strangeplace.me @nixCraft@mastodon.social yeah. And neither are within the 40m band.
Any time I "tap to pay"
