I overwintered a single swallowtail chrysalis after finding a chonky caterpillar making a run for it in the alleyway. Here is the result 8 months later

Warty leaf beetle moms sculpt little poop houses around their eggs, that then are worn as oversized poop hats by their larvae, which grow into poop-shaped adults

This little marsh fly in the genus dictya is one of my favorite spring insects. I like their flat faces and freckly patterns.
