Maven, the program Google was forced to pull out of and Palantir took over, was the system that identified the girls’ school as a target.
Work has been not-so-subtly hassling me to use AI tools in my day-to-day. Relented and asked for advice on tackling a technical printing process problem. Copilot confidently proposed a workflow that turned out to be demonstrably false, once followed.
It finally suggested a workable solution, but there is little value (and no time savings) to me in suggestions where I have to verify the validly of each and every one.
So deeply ironic that the very first repost is by a pro-AI bot, despite the actual article being deeply critical of unthinking AI automation.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social Disappointing for LEGO official. The few times my Wife reported missing pieces from her LEGO CREATOR city sets (not the same, I admit), they were always genuinely embarrassed and apologetic in the tone of their reply emails, where they arranged replacement parts.

@trelord in this case I had exhausted my specialist knowledge in this area, and I did ultimately lead me to a comprised solution. But its initial solution was a falsehood, draped in robotic blind confidence, thanks to its inherent lack of any sort of actual comprehension.
