Carpal tunnel is still making painting a hassle, but I am working on a diorama for a friend's birthday, so needs must. When is it due, you ask? Why, in about five hours, thanks for not panicking.
Time for a fun wee project. I've been playing Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone solo with the gorgeous standees in the Edgerunners box for that last year or so. Finally decided to pick up some of the models - Tyger Claws.

Carpal tunnel has been playing havoc with my hobby time recently, but I managed to put together this lot tonight. The push-fit helped a fair bit. Fingers crossed that the weather holds out for some priming tomorrow.
Last August I was signed off work, being bullied by a colleague. I was on sleeping tablets & anti-anxiety medication. By January, I thought I was going to have to resign and find another career.
This week I have 3 days of events planned to mark the end the summer holidays for the kids. I don't have words for how good it feels to have energy and passion back for my job. Doing a test for this week's art piece for the kids, using the sickness policy documents I don't need anymore as scrap paper
Let's learn a new game, shall we? Was given a great intro game tonight; we mostly talked tactics and rules rather than play turns, but I can see this one being a fun brain scratcher of a game. Sunday nights for the last few years, at 11pm, I tune into a cosplay stream. I don't really chat but I listen in as I fall asleep and watch the vod on Mondays. After 10 years on Twitch, she has decided to retire from streaming and last night was her last show. I have so many feelings that I can't explain right now, certainly not to the normies in my life. These parasocial, online only relationships are a weird thing.

Been playing around with some tabletop game design ideas but I think I need a bit more focus. Clearly the world doesn't have enough game jams out there so I'm going to do my own. Another Gorram Game Jam. 30 days from the 1st-31st of August. No set theme and anyone who would like to join in can. I'll be combining it with #Blaugust to hopefully encourage two good habits in myself at the same time.
On the phone to my mum and she asked if someone I was talking about was a real friend or someone I knew online. After 30 years, I've given up arguing with her about those two being the same thing. It does make me sad sigh every time though

Work, illness, and life have gotten the way, and I've not been at the allotment in three weeks. I knew it was going to be bad, but I had no other plans today, so I rocked up with snacks, sugary drinks, and a will to see it through. 5+ hours of playing "is this a weed or one of my seeds" (sadly, I lost very badly at the related game of weed or parsnip), and order has been restored! I'm going to hurt tomorrow

@SunDancer@metalhead.club hahaha I won't, don't worry! I'll be honest, if all the bloody mdf terrain companies weren't all so damn expensive, I wouldn't have done this. Even TTCombat seem to be moving away from their cheap older kits to their pre-coloured stuff. I priced up a table last week and realised it was cheaper to buy a printer and 5kg of filament.
Back on my Linux Mint adventures after a few days away from my pc. Needed to reformat a drive and then fuck about with mounting in a useful place for having Steam and Bottles. That took a fairly long time because Bottles wasn't happy. It is a steep learning curve and I can see why people use LLMs to cut through the time spent reading endless forum/reddit posts. I look forward to looking back and laughing at my n00b self

I got to spend the afternoon in the centre of Edinburgh today. I got to hang out with one of my favourite people, go 2nd hand movie shopping, and sit in the park to soak in the beauty. I won't probably be back until September because tourist season is too much for me but gosh, I love my city.
It is the 1st of August and while I've decided to not take part in Blaugust, I am pushing ahead with a 30 day game jam challenge for myself. I was working today so only got a little done but I've got the bare bones of a theme, a game play loop and a restricted scope. It's felt really good having my brain noodling on ideas during the work day.

As the child of a workaholic parent, I try really hard to not bring work home with me.
Then there are the times when I decide lino print stamps would be perfect for our Pokemon themed play day in a couple of weeks and of course 10pm on a Saturday night is the right time to start!

I have a love of engineering and a lifelong fascination with ocean vehicles. Oceangate was always a sham but now the final reports are out, here is a great video that tells you what's what. Turns out regulations are there for good reasons, who knew!?! Also the best comment:

Finally, I got back into GW2 for a little while this evening. Holy moly, there's a lot of crap in my inventory, and I have no idea what any of it is or does! There's probably something to be said for starting a new toon to relearn stuff but I'm going to try and just bring my main back. I used to love that sassy Asuran thief; I think I'd like to fall back in love with her.

@stargrace@gamepad.club I suspect this is to keep them in line with data protection regulations in the UK and EU. I know that our system at work has to delete inactive accounts after a set period of time to make sure we're following data retention practices.
