Replying to

@sarahtaber@mastodon.online @amyedge@toad.social I was watching Clarkson's Farm and watching them spray straight cow manure on a field without even trying to compost it first and the way the presented it as a completely reasonable thing to do didn't make me feel great.

Replying to

@evacide@hachyderm.io It's clear how many people have never really met cops, that they fail to understand just for egregious one's behavior needs to be before they get reported by their fellow officers.

Rudy Giuliani managed to squander an incredible amount of unearned Goodwill be had by happening to be NYC Mayor in 2001.

Now he's in bad shape in the hospital and no one cares because of who he showed himself to be.

Replying to

@Brian @djlink It's typical to do so during the initial filling when you're just trying to get feedback from the SEC on whether they'll approve the offering. Full public disclosure is still necessary before the actual offering.

It is wild to me when someone describes a co-worker moving on as "sad".

It's a job. Develop some perspective.

If they're leaving because they want to leave, that's a win.

@Doctor_J_@mastodon.social Just get a regionally appropriate native wildflower seed mix. Depending on the state of your yard, the seed bank in the soil may not be readily accessible without tilling, and it could be full of invasive seeds you don't want. Better to be sure you're growing natives, in my opinion.

@mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io Daniel Suarez wrote a novel in 2017 featuring an American living in Singapore in 2045 because the US became too hostile to Science so educated people had to move elsewhere. It certainly hasn't become a less likely future.

I don't think I'd want to have such a blatantly ageist policy on the books.

I have no plan to watch any Beast Games, but I've watched a couple of videos about people talking about Beast Games, and my main takeaway is that Jimmy Donaldson is one of the most untrustworthy people alive, and absolutely can not understand why the players in his games that he's (unintentionally) designed to encourage cooperation aren't constantly betraying each other for money.

@xankarn It's worth noting that the site they're looking at here in New Hampshire is in a region with *enormous* PFAS contamination that has made the ground water toxic. https://www.nhpr.org/nh-news/2026-02-20/ice-facility-merrimack-detention-center-nh-newhampshire-pfas-contamination-drinking-water

Proposed location for ICE facility in Merrimack sits within PFAS contamination zone

Proposed location for ICE facility in Merrimack sits within PFAS contamination zone

Many Merrimack residents have long faced issues with chemical pollution in their drinking water.

Replying to

@mattblaze@federate.social The local Juvenile Detention Center here in New Hampshire is named after John Sununu, which seems like something his Political opponents would as an act of shade to me, but seems to have been intended as a strange honor. We need Trump's name on shameful things like that.

Replying to

@mekkaokereke@hachyderm.io Beau of the Fifth Column used to talk about wanting America to stop being the World Police, and focus on being the World Paramedic. It's a great thought. It's also much cheaper and serves our interests better than our long-standing approach.

I really like my @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org. I dropped my 13" laptop a bit ago and it bent the top cover and broke the display. I was able to swap out the parts really easily, and when I messed up the Wifi cables on the new cover, I was able to swap in the wifi module from the old cover and everything just works.

I would have probably liked to order some of the newly announced replacement parts, but the fact that I can eventually upgrade my 13 to a 13 Pro over time is awesome.

OMG, an episode of High Potential this season has the LAPD using Copilot to assist in an Investigation. Like, MSFT pays for a LOT of product placement, but this was egregious and awful.
