Birb Update. Scrub-Jay now appears at our door like clockwork, morning and night. He calls and calls until T’Chat comes to the door. He and T’Chat then have lengthy conversations about the state of the world.

July 4, 1980, my high school bf and I took the Metro from Alexandria, VA to DC to watch the Beach Boys play on the Mall. We got there nice and early, found a great place to throw our towels. AND proceeded to ROAST. It was so hot, and we had so little water to drink that we left the Mall before the concert and went back home 🤣. Were any of you Fedizens there that day?

Raw, unedited interview with a Bend, Oregon physician who is on the cruise with the #hantavirus outbreak. Dr. Stephen Kornfeld was able to step up to help when the ship’s doctor fell ill. He has a very calm and balanced overview of the situation (he is still on the ship, at sea). #mvhondius #infectiousdiseases

This is fun. The prescribed burn 15 miles SE of Bend, OR has morphed into a wildfire. 🔥 They lost control.

This is horrible. The poor owners! I read the article and saw they’d just rebuilt. I remember your previous posts about how much you liked this spot 💔

@GPJohnston@mastodon.social Ah yes. We’ve had 3 small ones already. This would be the largest of the season and it’s only May 7.

@NudelnAlDente@mstdn.social He’s a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, the corgi breed with a big tail. You don’t see as many in black and white, for sure.

@JasonStiff@sfba.social It’s a hard time for so many. And every loss ricochets into everyone else. Rest up as much as you can.

@jeridansky@sfba.social We’re fine. Truly. Smoke would be our only issue, but so far the wind is blowing it away from us. And we’ve got our Corsi-Rosenthal boxes ready!
Good morning!

@jeridansky@sfba.social Even a little bit of food is encouraging. Home food and comforts would certainly be more appealing in every way. I hope he can get home soon.

Our move is complete. I feel we’ve crossed a major finish line with a big win; unpacking is the easy part now. Can you believe it????
