@gordoooo_z@polymaths.social @nicolaromano@qoto.org @Kiloku@burnthis.town @eb@social.coop it's about as good as copy pasting from random githubs and stack overflow posts. You only have a machine to automate that more or less. By design it can only plagarise the most prevalent code it it's dataset, and a bigger and "smarter" model only increases the quality of that retreiving.

@isagalaev @wwahammy Every PC out there has the option to disable secure boot, and BIOSs are very rarely updated. And even if California/the US or whoever passed a law to mandate always on secure boot, why would the mostly chinese and taiwainese motherboard manufacturers oblige ? Ofc we need to fight back against all of this shit, but the PC should remain "free" for a while longer.

@womble@infosec.exchange @joe@f.duriansoftware.com You know that's a reality now ? It's almost faster to decompress LZ4 blocks by half L1-sized blocks than directly reading data (sequentially) on a modern amd64 processor.

I am going to take a break from Mastodon to focus. As organic as it is, i still spend too much time looking at news, cat pictures, debates, and #bloomscrolling .
Farewell to my 12 followers.

@ryanc@infosec.exchange It seems to crash the Android Debian VM in a few seconds, and it's no different if i remote into another machine to decompress. It must somehow use up the 3~GiB of RAM allocated, i assume it's a bug in the terminal implementation though.

@tbortels@infosec.exchange @nikitonsky@mastodon.online Well, especially since MacOS is translated into dozens of languages, they could just read ? It's a problem i notice more and more in the younger generations, they don't read prompts, messages, tooltips, ect. and instead blindly trust the UI/UX to be "intuitive"

@Fedihacker@masto.es @stevelieber@mastodon.social The latest XAML release was in 2019. Knowing Microsoft, that means it's probably barely used anymore.

@anon_opin@mastodon.social I started using it at around 12, when i wasn't really conscious about all of that, and it was presented as pretty much the only option around. And that's the case of most of my friends that are there.
