The little blobs are now too big to fit under the parents anymore. They still huddle against them, it's so adorable! They also start training their wings by flapping wildly and slapping everyone around them.

"Go touch grass!" For real tho, go touch grass, it puts things in perspective and gets you back in touch with nature around you. I recommend low level #birding. Crows and pigeons are found almost everywhere on earth and they are super easy to befriend. It simply takes peanuts, seeds and some patience. Do it regularly for a few days, roughly around the same time and you will see, that the birds start to behave different towards you. It won't take long and you have your own birb armada following you around. You'll learn to ready their body languages, how they communicate with you and how you in return can communicate with them. This gets you out and away from screens and one terrible newsline after another and you gain lots of new feathered friends.

Let's talk about a topic most feminists don't want to hear about: men, masculinity, and love.
Because misandry is real and we need to talk about it. In the following I will write mascs for simplicity. This includes: cis, trans and inter men, nonbinary people who feel connected to masculinity and any other person doing the same. If I mean specific groups I specify it.
I hope we all agree that patriarchy is our common enemy. But patriarchy =/= men
Patriarchy is a system that upholds a very specific group of men and only those: masculine, dominant, white, abled, cis, successful in his job and rich or at least rich enough to not worry about money. Everyone else feels some kind of oppression from this system. And even the winner of patriarchy are harmed by it, often without noticing it. Patriarchy teaches men to distance themselves from their emotions. Men who show emotions are seen as weak and not desireable. The probably most extreme consequence of this is the much higher rate of completed suicides among mascs worldwide.
We need to meet mascs with compassion and love, not rejection. If feminism tells me my whole life I'm a violent monster without offering me an alternative, why should I embrace feminism?

Oh no! Over the Artemis excitement I forgot to share the newest #BalconyPidgey news 😱 When I came back on Monday from my little Easter gardening adventures, I immediately refilled the snack bar. The pigeon currently on nest duty immediately came down to gobble down the food and it's partner almost as quickly spawned out of nowhere. It's not like they are wild animals that can care for themselves perfectly well, they acted as if they were starting 🤣 But the real cool thing: Almost as quickly a juvenile wood pigeon joined them! It targeted my balcony as if it knew about it and interacted with the adults in a very familiar way. My pigeons have started nisting very early in the last years, last year it was already in February! This year it was quite late, we now have April and it's their first brood of the season. Is it tho? Since they were so late this year I had considered that they might have made a nest somewhere else, but then they returned to my balcony and I discarded the idea. But now with the juvenile appearing, I'm wondering if they indeed had a brood somewhere else this year already 🤔 That would mean that the chicks currently incubating are already number 29&30 😱
Also: pidgey just sneezed while I was typing this and oh my god 😍

#BalconyPidgey baby blob tax. You can see that the parents don't really sit on the nest anymore but rather stand over the babys, while they cuddle into the parents fluff. They also pump themselves up and hiss at me from under the fluff 🤣 The parents are much chiller.
With every new brood the parents tend to build the nest a little bit more to the left. I probably need to place some stones into the other side of the planter to counter the weight soon 🤔
