Codeberg:
I'm also frustrated by @Codeberg@social.anoxinon.de 's availability.
But I won't go back to a platform that has enshitiffied so much it' basically just a front for AI.
Instead, I am paying for a codeberg active membership, and hoping enough folks will do it as well so they can have the proper resources to operate properly.
If we go back to our old capitalistic masters as soon as there's a flaw in whatever new we're trying to build, we won't ever change anything.

If you implement #ActivityPub, but only accept follow from actors of the same software, are you really a member of the #Fediverse ?

Replying to
@smallcircles@social.coop that means you're only federating with one thing though. To me, the entire point of the fediverse is to federate with every other player.

A couple years ago, I wanted to be able to explicitly define configuration on a #rails app, and have that provisioned from multiple possible sources (environment variables, or config file).
That gave SmartConfig: https://codeberg.org/dmathieu/smart_config
Fast forward to now, and the awesome benefit of having an explicitly defined config: auto-generating the doc for the #cookifed available configuration is straightforward.

@technicat@plasmatrap.com @cookifed@fosstodon.org FYI, if you're trying to test our activitypub implementation, this account is on mastodon, not cookifed.
@dmathieu@cuisine.social is a cookifed account.
We don't support quotes though.

@_elena We don't know each other, but I speak french!
Le fediverse est centré sur les gens, pas sur leur réputation ou leur notoriété. On y discute, on y fait pas du marketing.
On y rencontre véritablement des etres humains, on n'interargit pas juste avec des community managers.

@smallcircles@social.coop in this case, you can't follow unless nodeinfo gives the proper software name. So one can't build new software meant to interact with this one.

I've just closed the last big blocker before I'm starting to feel ok opening #cookifed to a few folks.
https://codeberg.org/cookifed/cookifed/issues/920
So you can expect more formal communications, and a few invitations going out around september (summer is holidays).

Rails is launching a "reference apps" page.
There are hundreds of open-source #rails apps, but they only found 3 ... and they're all maintained by (racist) #DHH's company ...
At this point, it's a cult.

I just wrote doc about the use of LLMs in the @cookifed@fosstodon.org codebase.
Too harsh? Not harsh enough?

@smallcircles@social.coop @steve@social.technoetic.com well, in this case, 2 independent 3rd-parties can't interoperate with each other unless they are the exact same software. This is not interoperability.
