It's too bad there isn't some markup that is like a superset of html where a schema could be defined and documents could be validated, with an existing pile of libraries and utilities that are focused on data structure over human readable documents.

Bummer.

Why did it not complete? No idea. There was no indication that there was an error, the transfer just stopped/paused, but there was no restarting it, nor determining where the transfer had stopped (other than checking item by item via Activity). rsync over diff may have been better, the number of differences is small, google disappoints again.
