Hey #Welsh people: do you know of any #glassblowers in Wales, capable of creating a blown lamp shade?

This is fantastically nerdy, I just love it.
The V&A has added the first YouTube video to its collection, via a reconstructed watchpage that shows it as it was in 2006.
Because how else to you collect and curate the experience of watching a video IN THE PAST?
Full details on the process here: https://www.vam.ac.uk/articles/acquiring-an-early-youtube-watch-page-and-its-first-ever-video
Well worth a read, it's fascinating!

Recommendations for some open source #genealogy software?
Report shows:
⛔ 60% of UK museum stores are full
🫸 24% will reach maximum capacity within 5 years
🗃️ Only 8% have 10+ year capacity for storage
🌡️ Only 15% of storage facilities meet current preservation standards
⚠️ Frequent issues with access and documentation backlogs (read: so you don't know what you've got it or why)
📥 Yet 83% of museums are actively collecting
📤 65% hope to rationalise (but need support doing so)

So a tree fell on our house today. Happy Wednesday!
Some of these make for bleak reading (especially the headliner, but that's no surprise) but here's a good summary of what the different #Welsh parties are pledging regarding #museums and #heritage: https://www.museumsassociation.org/museums-journal/news/2026/04/reform-pledges-to-end-political-indoctrination-in-heritage-in-wales/
Engage! 🚀 🖖
I guess I'm going to have to boldly go to London as they've got an exhibition on Star Trek (a now 60 year old franchise) on at the Science Museum. Don't mind if I do!
📆 Open March 26 - September 8 2026
🎟️ Mostly free (film screenings cost £)
📍 Science Museum, London
Details here (including film screenings): https://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/star-trek-60
The money isn't exactly amazing, but the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust is looking for a #freelance documentation specialist (and yes, you can work from home):

Yesterday I visited Dylan Thomas' boathouse and writing shed in #Laugharne for the first time. It's a ditty little museum but very charming! Plus it was a VERY beautiful day for it.
I'll freely admit I knew very little about Dylan Thomas before visiting, and now I know a smidge more (including what he sounded like). Winning, right?
An excellent @thecwordpodcast@glammr.us excursion all in all!

This horrific cough has been torturing me since March. Ugh.
