@attero@mastodon.social I was more surprised that Bare Bones SW update server still supported a HTTP connection. Good on them!

@flargh@mastodon.social Next week, you just look at each other, nod, take the bag and leave.

@ctp@mastodon.social @bwebster@mastodon.social But the real hero here is AppleEvents, right? If that could have been decoupled and modernized it could have allowed other language alternatives to take hold instead of relying on the AppleScript syntax. While I don’t have a huge problem with that language it hasn’t really stood the test of time since being frozen in carbonite oh so long ago

@rands Why would they want power? Then they’d have to make decisions. Much easier to be spineless blob of jelly moping about

@gloriouscow My FIL worked at IBM for about 40 years. I think he has the Atmos Heritage Clock - I’ll have to look next time I’m at their house. He won many service and technical awards while there and had drawers full of this kind of memorabilia. More importantly, IBM gave him a solid job, tons of interesting challenges to solve, and a pension and continuing healthcare

@jimluther@techhub.social @samhenrigold@hachyderm.io Since I've been spending time in System 7 again (because, let's find any mechanism to distract my from the outside world) and have to reboot a lot (hey, memory management is hard) it's funny how I use the extensions loading as the progress bar and it took me a beat to realize that I missed the progress bar in the startup window.

@davew@mastodon.social I wish I had kept track of when I first subscribed - I’m definitely a long time reader and glad others will be introduced into the fold

@dadederk @pasqualevitt thanks for sharing you skill and these others. I’m working on a small, personal app and am adding accessibility in from the start. This will be a huge help

@dadederk For sure. My apps are mostly macOS, at least to start, so I may adapt your skill to Mac-specific concepts as I go along. I’m definitely not shy about asking questions 😉
