Just a rose in an autumn sunset

Another candelabrum tree, Thuja plicata, redcedar, on a street corner. It overpowers the house next to it and intimidates pedestrians. As it should.

Today I amazed myself. I got up late! I read all my social media and emai! I read all the news that's fit to read! I did my crosswords, Spelling Bee, etc puzzles! I walked to the P-Patch! I winter prepped half my patch by chopping up squash leaves for mulch. I walked back home! All before noon!💪💪 💪 😅 I even ate breakfast and had a late coffee break, and talked to people.
The perfect murder?

A couple of houses on this block put up a yearly sidewalk border display of zinnias mixed in with other flowers on 20th Ave. All kinds of bees love it!

For what it's worth, I don't think an aging society is bad or horrifying. It's different. Maybe we will finally start valuing parenting! Maybe children will be treated as fully human instead of potential industrial fodder! Who knows!

A bumblebee photobombed the photo opp, but flew off after just a brief touchdown. There were lots of bumblebees in the squash, and the honeybees were all over the arugula flowers.

@Nead@social.vivaldi.net poor guys! But I think Tom is OCD, so maybe he feels pressure regardless? And yes, Seattle has a program to tell you when to put out which bin. But why look it up when you can look out the window?
A trip to the P-Patch :Seattle Parks adds an anti-ICE sign, and suddenly I have vegetable life

One reason I don't get going on a casual hike with earbuds in and talking to someone on the phone
