Former (since a month ago) career concept illustrator, sharing watercolor, daily sketches and odd ideas. Maker of human drawn images. The only AI I use is Average Intelligence. Tovaangar in the USA. 12.3 miles southeast of where Wallace Wood took his last breath. 8.5 Miles Northwest of where Elliot Smith was last alive.
My figure sketches from a costume fashion session only a block from home today. #urbansketching from life, and a great group plus pastries from local bakery. #bythehandofbob
For a few hours yesterday, with a brush on mulberry paper I decided to imagine being a fashion illustrator, looking at old fashion poses. Found out-- it's harder than I'd think. Not #urbansketching
This #urbansketching from last night's twice-monthly sketch group. Was themed Rebel Girls. Probably some IP the kids know. The event was fun with loud music.
Here's an #urbansketching postcard from moments ago. I dwelled on it a little longer than usual. At the good coffee place in town. The marks are very small, but may appear large on a screen.
This #urbansketching is from a few days ago at the good local coffee shop. Very busy on a weekend. The pose of the man at far right amuses me, not sure the drawing is clear, though.
This #urbansketching from yesterday at the busy coffee shop, was started in my larger accordion book (left side). And then with 2 postcards, I added a little more of the scene to the right.
I went to the cool people's coffee shop this morning. Sort of a far walk, so I drew these #urbansketching while weak and shaky and at a distance. So, thus-- looser than yesterday's. ←Excuses
This #urbansketching from almost a week ago at fashion-inspired sketch group. This one in pencil instead of my usual brush and ink. Not sure what the costume alluded to.
Again a sketch from fashion photography-- I am especially fond of stunt fashion as spectacle. This is another ink on mulberry paper. Not #urbansketching again.
Here's #urbansketching from this morning, on a postcard and envelope. People seem to be in profile today. At the mega coffee place.
Here's just one #urbansketching today. This from minutes ago, another artist (on iPad). When people are doing art they are easier to sketch because their attention is not scattered.
Here's a little #urbansketching from this morning at mega coffee, now that I am back to civilian life from jury duty. Ink on envelopes.
THis is today's supply of my #urbansketching at mega-coffee. The drawing on the envelope on left lacks the color of the real experience. The sitter's mohawk is a bright fuchsia.
Here's #urbansketching from this morning. The sketch on right is of someone drawing on paper. This cafe has layers of depth that I like.
This morning's haul from the #urbansketching mine (coffee shop). On weekdays, it's remote knowledge workers, and often the same people. Their knowledge is not remote, they work remote, I think.
This is #urbansketching from yesterday from the vantage of mega-coffee near home. It's looking across the beautiful parking plaza to the place that makes bowls and smoothies. Practical cars are parked in between.
A little #urbansketching from minutes ago at mega-coffee place. I sat in a different spot and got a different composition. This time, I notice the setting more, so that's new to me.
Part of today's #ubansketching haul. Wow, strollers are sophisticated vehicles now. Many of us once rode around in the kind where one capsize would be catastrophe.
Here's a very typical #urbansketching from the cafe yesterday. People move much faster than you can really record. I'd offer everyone a week's worth of coffee to stand still, but then, I'd have to quit my own coffee habit for a year.
From minutes ago, this #urbansketching shows what early Monday looks like at the coffee shop. People doing remote knowledge work, and thinking thoughts. It's the future after all, even if it doesn't look like the Jetsons.
