Beth McKinley

@CiaraNi@mastodon.green @johnlorimer@mastodon.social @annika@xoxo.zone I am really enjoying a beta test site made by Canadians for Canadians (Gander). Buggy as all get out, because duh beta; but also currently by invitation only so a manageable amount of well intentioned folk. A pleasant change from most other sites. Mastodon is closest to the feeling of it, so the two sites I spend most of my time on. Do still have others, but need them to keep in touch with relatives and friends.

@davidrevoy@framapiaf.org wow

@Natasha_Jay My home town. And if you are going to bike year round here you need snow tires and enough energy for long distances and to get up and down a rather steep river valley on a regular basis (it is basically in the middle of town, great parks and bike trails, but not so easy to get up and down).

@Annacats they are very nice whiskers

@rmq Though, I was online a bit back in the message board days. There were trolls of various kinds even there. Remember 1 person who, if disagreed with in the least, did a deep dive to find anything on line they could blacken the other person's rep with. The biggest thing I learned, and still learn over and over again, is not to feed the trolls. A problem is a lot of folk who are trolls are now glorified, rather than starved out?

@brianbilston ah, someone on Gander recommended following you in Facebook. So glad to find you here instead.

Toby and me wayyyyyy back in the day.

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt Thanks for making me literally laugh out loud.

@Andres@mastodon.hardcoredevs.com @twirlyboy@mstdn.ca @kathygriffin@mstdn.social forgot to add I have an auto immune condition that made it much easier to catch, even after all the vaccines, masks and precautions. And I still need to earn a living so cannot hide from the world.

@Andres@mastodon.hardcoredevs.com @twirlyboy@mstdn.ca @kathygriffin@mstdn.social yup, same for me, can do every reasonable precaution but unless you go far beyond reasonably living a cautious life it can still get you, such is the stuff of having to live a life sometimes.
