I've seen and heard about crows chasing off eagles and hawks before - I always figured it was a teamwork kind of thing. Get all your crow buddies together and chase off the bully because you have the advantage of numbers. Today I watched a solo crow chase an adult bald eagle away. The crow chased it down from behind and harassed the eagle until it left.

Remember, folks:
by checking your watch multiple times per minute, and leaning hard into ADHD-waiting-mode, you too can be just 2-3 minutes late to every meeting ever.

Replying to
@xgranade @SnoopJ @glyph @jonny @Meyerweb my (limited) understanding is that the colon in Finnish is for attaching endings to basically any word-shaped thing that isn't spelled out - numbers (1:n), initialisms (TV:sta), and letters - not for transliteration. Also fun fact: German often uses colons in gendered words to make more inclusive language, e.g, Lehrer:innen to represent Lehrer (male teachers) and Lehrerinnen (female teachers). The good news is that this is far from settled, so * and _ are also often used 🎉

My guess is that these would be the most interesting to a preteen:

@treyhunner@mastodon.social follow-up feedback: I'm using the heck out of this and loving it.

Also I found a bug: upon adding the 197th country, you get an error due to a 400 from /api/quiz/learn-new/ I assume the client side wants me to finish my batch of 5, and the server knows I don't have any new countries to learn or something like that
