@chu@climatejustice.social I was one of the close to school moms. I took calls from the high school that were often a friend of my daughter’s who needed a ride home because of a family emergency. I always said yes. For context they all graduated 2 years ago.
Art 365/125 - Bewick's Wren - little guy on attention on a cactus. #art365 #watercolour
Art 365/128 - Great Horned Owl
My watercolour based on a dodgy photo I took some years back.
Art 365/133 - Red-tailed Hawk
View from below of light coloured wings save for dark shoulders and tail.
Any Victoria locals with a truck willing to help my daughter move from her UVic dorm to her new place? Involves moving a mini fridge and a large pc.
Art 365/129 - Eurasian Collared-Dove
This is my youngest. Ten years ago and now. They are currently a UVic student.

Art 365/126 - Acorn Woodpecker
I have some new water brushes and I'm learning how to use them. This sketch is from one of my photographs.
Husband and I drove our EV from home in California to see family in Vancouver and Victoria. It ended up being a very pleasant drive but did require a different approach to planning our stops. It's similar to how road tripping worked during the fuel shortages of the 1970s.

@octothorpe@mastodon.online you might like this recipe. It's been our go-to birthday cake recipe since WWII.

I took lots of photos as did my husband. I neglected to pack either a card reader or my camera cable, so those photos will have to wait until I'm home.
Cell phone photos I am slowly getting through. I take a ton of photos with it too.

@mvilain@sfba.social Chopped liver was a new thing for me 30 years back. It wasn't part of my family recipes either. It was / is part of my husband's family. So I nosh on it regularly now.

@thebeeguy we get bumblee bee nests on our back hill. We don’t use the hill as it is too steep. They are welcome to it.
