mastodon 4.7.3# Unix, BSD, Elixir/Erlang/OTP, InfoSec/CERT, DNS, XMPP # Toots Security, Privacy, Policy. Mostly harmless.
Being a BSD user/admin/advocate/contributor is weird.
You help enterprises use FreeBSD, you set OpenBSD firewalls at small ISPs, you patch code here and there and upstream, you run advocacy meetups at universities, you might even do fundraising for a small tool or a large conference...
Then someone comes and says "tHen wHy iS yOuR LaPToP a mAc Bro? y u sTill NEed LinUx drivers Bro? BSD sUCks my mannn"
not to sound like an ass (meaning totally to sound like an ass), but the BSDs are much better Unix systems anyway.
oh and if you want a real Unix that's legally open source, you may also have a look at #illumos ;)

@nuintari@mastodon.bsd.cafe I’d like to hear more about this. Because I run a Jail with multiple VNET interfaces on VLANs :)
