@MissConstrue Got the vasectomy a decade or so ago and can’t figure out why I waited. Would have been so handy in my 20s-30s!

@ChrisWarwick@mas.to @ThePiGuy24@meemu.org I asked my goblin friend and she said no, no intelligence.

@MissConstrue That is absurd. I just had a questionnaire to make sure I really didn’t want kids. Maybe they would have tried to talk me out of it if I weren’t in my 40s, but they didn’t. I’m sure experiences vary, but my recovery was a couple of ibuprofen.

@jonny@neuromatch.social The local burning man like event has started doing drones instead of fireworks before lighting the big fire, and they’re very artistic. So at least someone is using the medium to make sky-whales and not corporate logos

@bstacey@icosahedron.website @bipolaron@scholar.social I haven’t been tempted to donate since Freshmen On Campus. If MIT won’t treat students like adults, they won’t get my money. I feel lucky that I didn’t have the money to get a brass rat at the time because the number of times I would have felt compelled to send it back in protest has been LARGE.

@piebob@metasocial.com I have so many different pairs now for activities that would give me a crick in the neck otherwise

@lo@framapiaf.org I was relieved to see that the line widths actually do change. I initially thought it was an optical illusion. 😵💫

@stevegis_ssg @ifixcoinops I’m not atheist, I just refuse to grant that the question “is there a god?” is worthy of any consideration

@EmilySchnall To my eye, the watercolor is the most satisfying because it has more contrast. The first flat version reads to me as a single value, so it all merges into a blob. The second flat version has a bit more separation between elements, but is still harder to “read” than the watercolor

@somafm@sfba.social I went to an early Coachella and caught a BT show. At one point he tripped and knocked over his entire keyboard pedestal… to no effect on the music.

@lo@framapiaf.org Huh. Are there halftoning systems that change the dot shape as density increases, rather than just the size?

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social Definitely my English to Pikachu-speak translator: http://pikachize.eye-of-newt.com Even before becoming an accidental crawler honeypot, it got about four orders of magnitude more traffic than any of my other projects.

@ThePiGuy24@meemu.org That extra conductor is only needed if you have four phase power. Since your plug only has three pins (one per phase), best practice is to split the orange pair and wrap each strand around one of the pins at the bottom. This helps eliminate “cross-talk”. Some people advocate cutting the extra wires, but if you want to upgrade to four phase at some point in the future, you’ll have to replace the entire run instead of just rewiring the plug.
