The backup funds to help pay server costs and mods is low. ATM we're getting about $104 a month in recurring donations, which is awesome! We need $175 for the server, and a meagre $50 a month extra for paying our mods.

As well as providing an inclusive and safe space for photographers to share their work, we're one of very few fedi instances owned and managed by Global Majority people; our existance here is important.

It's domain renewal time ($33 usd) and we're still below what we need per month for server costs. Can you spare a few bucks to keep us existing? <3

@mlyon0486@photog.social @stevenlawson@photog.social @jbenjamint@mastodon.scot @alfiegoodrich@photog.social only now seeing this thread - we're not closing down and haven't said anywhere that we're closing down :)

Domain transfers are in progress. There may be a little weirdness over the next day or so as things propagate.

We're updated to Mastodon v4.5.0 now.

Quote is, for some reason, under the boost button. And now it takes 2 click to boost something.

If you want to change your options for who can "quote" you, you can do that in posting_defaults settings -> preferences -> posting default

edit: a friend shared that they did add a setting to change the boost behavior! settings -> preferences -> appearance and scroll way down to the "enable quick boosting" checkbox!

tldr; we are doing better but still need your help! We need at least €50 more to cover our server's hosting cost! If you can, support photog.social (either one time or monthly!) so we can keep a server that has been running since 2017 and is one of a handful of Global Majority run/modded fediverse instances! 🌈
