I'm seeing a lot of folk trying @postmarketOS@social.treehouse.systems , which is great, but what I think would really help is a published roadmap to the first, full supported, phone.

Currently "main" (i.e. the most supported platforms) are all QEMU. The Fairphone 4 is missing full audio and camera support (Ubuntu Touch seems to have that problem solved), and there doesn't seem to be a phone that you just "Flash and go" as a daily driver.

There's a lot of potential here. I hope it can be realised 🤞

It’s interesting, to me, to see some posts expecting government action to support the @keepandroidopen@techhub.social campaign.

Personally I’d be very surprised if that happened. Governments usually get involved when there’s either a monopoly (which there isn’t), or there’s direct, noticeable, harm to a large number of consumers (which there’s unlikely to be).

I think it’s a crappy move by Google, but it’s one in a long chain of them, which made me decided to leave the AndroidDev world last year.

I'm looking for a #Bazel #Monorepo engineer to work in my team in a full-time, hybrid role with 3 days per week in the office in either #Bristol or #London, UK.

Things are moving fast at Fractile, so I'm looking for someone who has the experience to hit the ground running, and get up to speed on our custom rules, RBE, Remote caching, etc., quickly and then help shape the future of the monorepo and how we use Bazel across the company.
