@jon @Vivaldi I'm still driving a 2008 Mazda 6, with a now non-working CD player and an AM/FM radio. Since at my age, and with health issues, I don't drive much, don't see the need to "upgrade" what is in the car, just listen to a favorite local classic rock FM station when I go out. It's my default browser on the desktop however, where I'm at most of the time these days! 🙂

@julia Reposting this using a desktop. Then again, I live "dangerously".... or "stupidly". 😜
She should have been ousted from the network when her shady husband was. She probably knew about his shenanigans. Also, "Big Brother" is still on the air??? https://ew.com/big-brother-host-julie-chen-moonves-addresses-new-post-abduction-security-measures-12012110
Random Observation: Seems the #Vivaldi browser got a bit "sluggish" (at least on my desktop) after the latest update. Mostly when it comes to clicking and scrolling. Also, not a fan of the "unified" interface.
Finally changed my desktop computer background for the first time in a couple desktops. Old one was mom's cat (left) and my cat (right) when I moved mom in with me after she retired. They were both sitting on the kitchen table. Replaced it with a snap son made in early 2018, before he moved to Florida briefly. He took it at sunset at the parish rifle range with the phone he had then. At that time, I was using a flip phone. Won't adopt a new pet for two main reasons, one, I'm doing good to feed myself on a fixed income, two, the pet might outlive me with my current issues.

Made a quick trip into town. Needed to go to the bank and get some cash for the next time the yard guy mows, and a stop at the grocery store to pick up a few items I forgot to get during my first of the month shopping trip. The little bit of time I was actually out from under air conditioning (mainly walking from/to the car at the grocery) caused me to be drenched in sweat. Had to take another shower after returning home. Too damn hot and humid for my liking.
Considering the symptoms listed in the article, I probably wouldn't know if I had that or not, since I've been getting most of those symptoms on a semi-regular basis anyway since the major surgery to remove part of my esophagus a few years ago... https://arstechnica.com/health/2026/07/michigans-explosive-outbreak-of-diarrheal-parasite-jumps-to-over-1200-cases/
Being I saw a post earlier that today was the 46th anniversary of this film, decided to pull it off the shelf for a re-watch tonight... #UsedCars #PhysicalMedia
Been playing with old photos again. This time a June 12, 1972 Polaroid taken at the now defunct "Dogpatch USA" theme park in Arkansas, featuring dad posing with some of the characters. Three versions, one, the original scan, second, enhanced version, third, if the frame appeared in the "Lil Abner" comic strip, which the theme park was based on...

Trash can wheeled out by the road, load of mostly bath towels in the washer, had updates on computer for Vivaldi and eM Client... those activities will most likely be my "excitement" for the day.

Argh! Sudden LOUD thunderclap! Made me levitate about six inches from my desk chair! 😮⚡️🌩️
Toilet is still making the loud "whistling" sound after a flush. Now I have to take the lid off the tank and jiggle things around, otherwise it won't stop running. Water in the bowl stays at the same level, just keeps running water though. Don't have the budget for a plumber, but a few years ago, my son replaced the entire toilet in his trailer next door and it still works fine.
Last time I tried to fix the toilet, back when the ex was still here, I managed to somehow bust the tank, so don't trust myself with a repair. I'm thinking that just the inner workings of the tank need replacing, which I looked up online, and are affordable. Think I'll see if Andrew would be up to the chore if I get the parts, since a plumber is out of the question budget wise. SSI doesn't go far.

@ChrisPirillo@mastodon.social After the alterations, refuse to watch anything past the first three films in their original form. As a result, my favorite Star Wars film is "Spaceballs".
I think the Mitch McConnell story has entered the Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead part. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/mitch-mcconnell-hospital-weeks-whats-going-on-1235590542/
Random Observation: Two actors who appeared in both "Car 54, Where Are You?" and "The Munsters", later appeared as court judges in films. Al Lewis, in "Used Cars", and Fred Gwynne, in "My Cousin Vinny".

Bought taco fixin's at the grocery a couple days ago, including a bag of shredded lettuce. Fixed them today. So far, no issues. But then again, occasional diarrhea has been a side effect of the esophagus surgery in 2018. Not sure I'd notice any difference! 😕

Just swatted another wasp that got inside the house. 🦟
Still wondering what is going on up the road from my house near Cheniere Lake Area 1. An annoying flag sign has been at the end of my driveway nearly three weeks now. The few times I drive into town, NO activity is happening, no flag people, no workers, just a few mesh orange "cages" on the side of the road, and some flexible yellow tubing with a black stripe on them. Yard guy has to work around that sign. 😡
Since mom passed a little over three years ago, the bigger TV and home theater system in the living room has been vastly under-used, since I spend most of my time since then back in my bedroom, where the desktop PC is located, and I have a TV set up where I can watch the desktop screen and TV at the same time.
Since the Blu-ray disc I was expecting arrived this afternoon, think I'll watch it in the living room this evening, to give the electronics in there some "work". Fairly certain I won't be hearing from anyone online, since I never do anymore anyway. The Blu-ray... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phantom_of_the_Opera_(1925_film) #PhysicalMedia

Albert Square: After Dark - Ep 173: There's One Born And Lost Every Minute
Woke up around 11:30am today, a few hours earlier than the past couple of days. Was having those "nighttime nausea" issues two nights in a row (not last night, the two before), and it didn't clear up until after 6:00am both those mornings, thus sleeping until nearly 4:00pm the previous two days. Slept decently LAST night.
After getting out of bed today, I showered/shaved, changed the bed linens (a couple weeks overdue), tossed the old ones in the washing machine, brewed up another gallon of unsweetened iced tea, drove to the nearby grocery store to buy a couple more bottles of vegetable juice (I drink a LOT of vegetable juice these days for some reason). After I got home, transferred the laundry to the dryer, read the daily comics online, scrolled through Facebook to see if I've missed anything "important" (I hadn't). By the time I finished that, the laundry was dry, so folded it and put it away (except for the fitted sheet, I just wadded it up and put it away as usual).
Then, went to the kitchen to figure out what I wanted to eat today. Decided to whip up a box of store-brand "Hamburger Helper". I still remember the "good ol' days", when a pan of Hamburger Helper was cheap to make. Sure, the product itself is still cheap, but the BEEF prices these days... good grief!!!
That was a huuuuge freggin' "newborn" infant in today's "EastEnders" episode! 😮 https://youtu.be/KqNeSrL68wM?si=ZlBh8AwpfjU30r9S #EastEnders
