@ahihi@anticapitalist.party it always seemed obvious to me as a child that the i one was "it" and why didn't everyone use it?

there's quite a healthy meshcore network here (and I think meshtastic too). lots of decentralised volunteers putting up repeaters and getting pretty decent coverage of the city via its peaks

all these people are chatting, of course

on discord

@old_angry_queer legend, thank you so much!! tip in return: the best way to cut these is with a good bread knife (serrated, ideally thin)

@slyka @dtl mine cuts off fine in the blacks but I think the lightness of the phosphor makes ambient light a problem. maybe a little smoked acrylic over the top, in the traditional way?

it crash

turns out nobody can run it anymore! time to do my bit for digipres

@gloriouscow@oldbytes.space I really love that you disassembled this in IDA, with all its interactive abilities for markup and analysis, in order to print it and go ham with the pencils! Not snark, in case that's not obvious -- I genuinely do. I wish I still had the time to sit with things in this way and with this depth, though I never had your penmanship! And I have a lot of admiration for anyone with the short-term memory to be able to cohere a linear disassembly into a coherent picture

@voltagex ISO9660 filesystems usually start 16 sectors in (though much, much later on some weird things eg. dreamcast iirc) so I'd expect that CD001 at 0x8000 in the output

@voltagex the metadata is optional - you are looking at the Primary Volume Descriptor and you can follow it around the disc image from the "directory entry for the root directory": https://wiki.osdev.org/ISO_9660 the LBAs are sectors (size 0x800) counting from the start of the disc, so if it says the root directory is at 0x14 it's at offset 0xA000
