My bag got pulled for extra screening. The reason? I had a folded up newspaper in it. When the TSA agent pulled it out, she said, “A newspaper‽ Where did you get that? Who has a newspaper in 2026??”

Today is #ArmenianGenocide Remembrance Day, marking the arrest and deportation of hundreds of Armenian leaders and intellectuals in Constantinople on April 24th, 1915. Most were eventually killed.
Deportations and massacres of Armenians had already begun in other parts of the Ottoman Empire and would continue. One million Armenians were killed, many in concentration camps or on death marches.
I'm a descendent of Genocide survivors. Let their histories not be forgotten.
Gonna start using the #ShareGoodNewsToo hashtag (h/t @adapalmer@wandering.shop) on the rare occasions that I run across some good news to post. Also started following the hashtag. Let’s make this a bigger thing.

This magazine cover is so full of falsehoods. World’s greatest game? Yikes. How monopoly is like life? No. Win every time? Stop.
#Monopoly is the worst. A complete corruption of The Landlord’s Game, which was intended to be an illustration of the economic theories of Henry George. Its main point was to show how concentration of land ownership creates societal ills.
Now it’s just an interminable game that leaves everyone miserable.
This is the best reporting that the Times has conducted in a while.
Always annoying when one stands at the wrong bus stop and misses the (free!) bus
@APBBlue@thepit.social it’s like the old saying goes: “if you don’t want your directional states to be confused, don’t make them both rectangular. And give ‘em some character!”
@amyfou@lingo.lol This sort of thing should be strictly confined to old-school cartoons. Horrible.
WHAT SEASON IS THIS, @stevegis_ssg@mas.to?? THIS IS NOT UNLOCKING! THIS IS FULLY UNLOCKED, DOOR FLUNG WIDE!
@VCP@mastodon.social sometimes things stick in my brain for no reason. Every now and again it comes in handy!
Per information reported by the Loire-Atlantique SDIS 44 fire and rescue services, the 69-year-old co-founder was one of two victims, alongside the unidentified owner of the Cessna 421 aircraft.
That’s a weird sentence. Why would they identify the passenger but not the operator?
