Goes together well with bonk-ing, too!
For the last few years I have been really annoyed with companies that advertise so called "Gaming routers". None of them are ever capable of running any games!
So @manawyrm@chaos.social and I built what I consider to be the first real gaming router.
It is based on a classic, the TP-Link TL-WDR4900 WLAN router with an AMD Radeon external GPU connected via PCIe and can run GTA.
Have been stargazing a little recently. Ended up being pretty late in the night so it was a bit brighter than I would have liked. Photos did come out ok for a first attempt though.
Spent the last week getting into MeshCore. Out of all community driven mesh network projects I have seem so far it is the one with the lowest barrier to entry by a large margin. Sure it may not be perfect in some regards but the part that is essential to get good coverage in cities and a high rate of adoption they get right.
And it is genuinely fun to use! Both when trying to get long distance connections via many hops or just chatting locally in your city with other curious folks.
Typo of the day: Blinkeatzen
Hey fedi, at #38C3 three of my Blinkekatzen have gone missing. They are cat-shaped lights that have a label on the bottom with my Fedi handle, mobile number and link to my blog. I had them deployed in hall 3.
Please let me know if you find them somewhere or have taken them with you by accident.

@flo@chaos.social While the tech stack seems to have some similarities - I'm also using an ESP and addressable RGB LEDS - the overall implementation is quite different. @maltepoeggel_de@chaos.social I have been thinking about multiple possible solutions to this problem since the disappearance of the Blinkekatzen. I think a few of them should be possible to implement relatively easily. I'll probably add some additional hardware provisions on the next revision, too.
