What's something you've learned in recent research?
That rigor mortis can cause slight movement in muscle tissue. The unspeakable horror when you stand next to a recently deceased person that is suddenly twitching a finger…
As we are approaching Prompt 1000…
What a journey. I met so many different people with so many different skills and opinions—it has become mind-blowing. Writing prompts are a part of it, but what I like the most is the little chatter I sometimes have with you. Yes, you!
Silly, honest, outrageous, hilarious, sad — so much.
I would miss it if I'd be forced to leave. Deeply. On the other hand, I don't regret anything.
Thank you.
Just for being there.
Thank you very much.
#Americans have health insurance provided by their employer who can *legally* fire them on the spot for not showing up at work cause they had a car accident on the way to work thus needing that health insurance the most.
Me reading this as #European:

If your antagonist had to learn a musical instrument, what would they pick and why?
Oh he doesn't have to learn to play an instrument (sort of) because the Colonel already can, the bugle. It was a voluntary part of his West Point "education", and he enjoyed it very much. Indeed, he was using his "skills" during his deployment in WWII.
That wasn't very appreciated BTW…
Is your MC an immigrant or newcomer in the place where they live? If so, where did they emigrate from and where do they currently live?
Yes, Kessy is a newcomer in Arizona. She's originally from North Carolina, but has lived in a bunch of states since her Dad is an army major.

How far beyond the local home of your MC does your story extend?
Three or four miles at most, that's how far "the cursed well" is away.
But Kessy was originally from North Carolina, amd as an army child she's already been to Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, and Alaska.

What have you tried to immortalise in your writing?
Try searching for solutions instead of only pointing out problems.
See, everybody can tell you what's wrong with the world they live in. But do they provide a way out of that alleged misery? Seldom, don't they? That's what I try to convey, you can change things that are wrong as long as your head isn't only good for wearing a hat.

Does your writing ever get away from you? (plot bunnies…?)
Oh yes, that happens. But I got my phone with me all day, and so I can write sown whatever comes up in my mind to save for later.
I'm so #Bored right now…
At #Work, the main conveyor chain which runs the whole production line broke in two spaces, the then loose parts slipped through a few sensors, and thus the accompanying computer doesn't know anymore where which part is. The whole company is at a halt while the mechanics try their best to fix the almost forty years old things.
I have only an hour of work left, and then I'll join the others having their spines massively shortened by standing around all day…

Have you ever read or performed your work in front of an audience?
No, and don't intend to.

What is your MC’s relationship to obtaining and preparing food?
Kessy can cook, but mostly simple things. Her Dad is in charge of getting groceries but he often forgets, and thus his secretary Ms. Henderson gets them. Or the base's chef is providing food, more or less voluntarily.
(Nobody counts a thousand eggs, so if a dozen or two are missing…)
Tell us about your WIP. What is the genre or genres?
My current WIP (should be done by now but isn't…) is called "The Green Light Of Arizona" and I say it's science fiction. Sort of.
It's loosely based on my perception of the movie "Super 8" (Abrams/Spielberg) but without making a movie or a train crash or extraterrestrials but with the military, and the kids are gay highschool teenagers who will hopefully rescue the world from imminent doomsday.
Imagine a world where #German children would still have to do an oath to Leader and Motherland and their "way of living" every day.
Horrible, ain't it?
Don't worry, we stopped doing so after WWII as we abolished fascism.
The #Americans didn't, BTW.
Okay, I hereby admit that Mehdi Sadaghdar is one of the only guys who can make me die laughing with so dumb shit that's obviously dangerous no one right minded would even try it. #ElectroBOOM
