If America became a one party state that could easily start a civil war. As far as the midterms, the GOP will probably lose the house and maybe a seat or two in the senate but still retain a majority. The 2028 elections could be a different story and I don't see how JD Vance overcomes the baggage of being so closely associated with Trump.
