Simpike

I've just realised that it is Monday

@iain@ohai.social @lordsplodge@brettspiel.space agree if it's not from the IMAX region of California then it is just sparkling whine

Everyone keeps telling me that I have to see the Odyssey in IMAX without taking the time to actually build an IMAX theatre anywhere near me or 90% of the population

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social on an entirely separate note have you ever read "Shades of Grey" by Jasper Fforde or the sequel "Red Side Story" An interesting story about a society where social class is determined by one's ability to perceive colour. Quirky and very thought provoking

@iain@ohai.social @jerk@brettspiel.space @lordsplodge@brettspiel.space "I prefer not to speak. If I speak I am in big trouble"

@LoganFive presumably short sighted senior leaders believe the AI will be able to do the napping for us?

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social I found it difficult to parse the Rebirth board 🤣

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social although the two books are very different in tone. Almost like he couldn't get the shades to match when he printed the sequel 🤣

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social I'm curious - which games with colour coding does this well?

@iain I enjoyed it and, as Chris said, we were getting the hang of the game by the third hand. We would probably have seen a few bidding stalemates by then which would have been interesting. One of those games that you definitely need to get a few group plays in before it clicks with everyone

Apparently GOL are the easyJet of Brazil Certainly the branding has similarities

@acb @JamesBaker @cstross Mary Whitehouse was at her peak pearl clutching in the 1970s (you can corroborate this because Pink Floyd released Animals in 1977 and she is, ofc, referenced in the song Pigs [three different ones] )

@CTD@mastodon.social slippery when wet?

@dansup@mastodon.social would be great to see some focus on the Android App - it's really quite two dimensional. Can't drill down comments, boosting doesn't work, comment box does not scroll or submit properly.... Still prefer it to the techbros though 😎

@Ponygirl @acb @JamesBaker @cstross no that's the bus stop ratbag 🤣 I was referring to "hey you whitehouse, haha charade you are"

@PhilipCJames@mas.to he feels it in his bone spurs

@JamesBaker I was squeezed between the D&D satanism and the Heavy Metal era. Good times.

@PhilipCJames@mas.to as a centrist dad, I am beginning to wonder if simply mocking Trump with witty repartees is really going to be effective in stopping the march if fascism in the US

@MonotoneofBill "resistant to arbitrary rules"

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social There's a VR simulation in the Copenhagen Museum of Medicine where they show you how the different strains of colour blindness see the world. It was fascinating and funnily enough all I could think of was how difficult it would be to play red

@stephenfry@mastodonapp.uk I have become blissfully ignorant of what is happening on that ship since I jumped on this lifeboat. what has elmo done now?

@CountBinface@mastodon.world some remarkably sensible policies

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social good job we never play each other

@arusha @pixelfed same for me - this is number one bug needing fixing.
