Tried out the P&P version of Dungeon Map Maker. Realised belatedly that I forgot I could place treasure in some rooms so it’s overall monster heavy. Surprisingly thinky and glad I decided to draw in Procreate so I could correct my many miscalculations.

You nailed it with “suck the fun out”, which is that variable hard to define dividing line which can be crossed in a variety of ways. As much a people problem as a game problem.

@ATaleofTwoMeeples I have similar issues when people play Carcassonne in a deliberately obstructive way, blocking off cities so they can’t be completed for instance. It’s perfectly legal but just feels shabby. We play competitively, trying to sneak in on cities and farms and get the majority, but popping a tile down as a blocker changes the vibe of the game for me.
Not exactly what you asked, but your post reminded me how different approaches to a game affect enjoyment and perception.

Have had no broadband for 48 hours. While Virgin service was often spotty, total outages were rare. BT OpenReach service non existent. Zen Internet very helpful but totally at mercy of BT who CBA even turning up.
