@oldrawgabbit@mastodon.world @briankrebs@infosec.exchange Recently, I had to use one of these parking apps. I created an account and I had to verify it by entering a code sent via SMS, which never arrived. I emailed their customer service and I was told to call an 800 number. I tried calling, but I got a “The number you have dialled is unallocated” message from 3 different phones (by that time I already have moved my car to a different lot). (1/2)

@brucelawson@social.vivaldi.net @briankrebs@infosec.exchange Product co-location: parents buying diapers will also get beer for dinner!

After several more emails with customer service, I was told to open a chat and after some explaining, the chat, finally gave me a code that worked! Yesterday, I had to go to the same location and with the app fully set up, I was ready to pay “easily” and “conveniently” for the parking. Well… it took me several attempts to make the app to identify the parking lot before I was asked to pay a “convenience” fee on top of the parking fee! 😡 (2/2)

@lcamtuf@infosec.exchange @dis@infosec.town I love how the Earth shines on the Sun (the right one)! I’m sure that there are many other “AI specials”!

@grammargirl@zirk.us Sorry to hear that!🤞 Pat recovers quickly!

@NanoRaptor @elithebearded The transparent background paint.

@brett I use SpaceMouse Wireless and it is great for both 2D and 3D navigation in #Fusion360, #SolidEdge, #OnShape, #PrusaSlicer, etc. It took me a couple of days to get used to it, of course. I like rotating the model and looking at it from all sides and angles, zooming in and out to check some corners, filets, etc. Can you go without one? Yes, but it makes using these tools flawless and easier vs. with regular mouse. It works in many other apps, too, but its main strength is 3D navigation.

@fahrni@curmudgeon.cafe @Gte@mastodon.social This is great!

@nixCraft @briankrebs I doubt that I’ll be able to run this on my company laptop, but I’ll try when I get the chance.

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt @briankrebs@infosec.exchange Amazing! The rendering is great; the images from Cassini (in the Wikipedia article) are incredible! 🪐 🚀

@NanoRaptor@bitbang.social @film_girl@mastodon.social What's My JND? 0.0012 Can you beat it? https://www.keithcirkel.co.uk/whats-my-jnd/?r=AHMjKP___3Nf That was on my iPad Mini. I’ll have to try on my monitor tomorrow…

@overholt@glammr.us @briankrebs@infosec.exchange Yes! The angle matches… and nothing else!

@jernej__s@infosec.exchange @NanoRaptor@bitbang.social @film_girl@mastodon.social You might be right - I just checked mine and it shows 0.0011.

@josefprusa@mas.to Yes to both! A plotter head or a mode for the liquid applicator would be great, too!

@fozztexx@mastodon.fozztexx.com It zeroes out since the fields are for relative rotation. You can try the rotation tool from the toolbar on the left. It has two modes - if the mouse is on the outer ring, the angle will be arbitrary; if the mouse is on the inner ring, the rotation will snap on 22.5° increments. If you want to place specific face on the plate, there is another tool in the same toolbar where you click on the face with the mouse and the slicer places it on the build plate.

@Cdespinosa@mastodon.social @NanoRaptor@bitbang.social Pronounced as “Cry-Cry”. And, yes - it was a pain!

@SteveClough@metalhead.club Absolutely! I think that I have 4 parking apps, too. This is the only one that charges a convenience fee, though. And it took me more time to set it up (I knew that I’ll be coming back to the same location) than the total time I parked there!
