I would spend $300 on building a thing before I spent $80 on buying it. I end up with a product that works exactly how I want, that I can trust to not secretly be fucking me over, is repairable in the future, and most importantly IT'S FUN TO MAKE THINGS

Updating my bed cooler to add a "maximum off time" setting, to ensure that the air in the bed gets cycled every now and then even if the temperature at the base is cool enough.

Pi-hole users: have you noticed a significant increase in anti-adblocker tech recently? I'm starting to think that I'd be better off solely relying on Ublock Origin which is better positioned to develop anti-adblocking blocking.

Upgraded the helping hands on the soldering clamp with a wingnut and a sliding t-nut, and now I can raise and lower the arms much easier.

This means that I can have the helping hands hold wires and components directly into the circuit board in the clamp.

Everytime I get back to Adelaide I get a new reason to love this city.

My package was delivered to the same unit # of the next building by mistake and I thought I was going to have to convince the people who lived there that it was mine, but instead it just sat there in the walkway untouched for nearly a week with everybody simply 'Not My Problem'ing it.

I did my part by walking up and taking it in silence without explaining, interacting with or thanking anyone.

Not bad! (please excuse the mess) The arms don't seem to interfere with operation of the soldering clamp, and the 3D printed base can be raised closer to the clamp if I want to hold a wire in a circuit board while I solder it (though that will probably reduce the range of motion before it overbalances) #3dprinting #electronics #maker #projects

Well I couldn't find my felt so I used microfiber cloth, which I have plenty of and should keep the sunnies clean. I might need to reinforce some parts of the 3D printed shell in a future version, but I'll wait and see where it breaks before I do that.
